What's with the conspiracy of silence about the hiring of Chad Bowden?
You know, The Director of Defensive Recruiting.
Marcus Freeman demanded that he bring his caddy to his new job and BK caved.
But it doesn't seem that the administration caved: it held fast to the hiring freeze that it announced.
It certainly seems like the Bowden hire is dead, unless they are going through the longest vetting process in history.
But not a word is said, one way or the other.
Why the silence?
We can't expect lapdogs like Somogyi, Prister, or Sampson to dig out the truth.
Oh, maybe everybody wants to sweep it under the rug, and just let it fade away.
But good for ND! Have some principles. Don't let the tail wag the dog. Don't let us get Sabanized with a bloated jockstrap beauraucry.
We want to beat Alabama, not become Alabama.

That's what the Irish were in the 40's until the administration put the breaks on Leahy. They had a four year run when they didn't lose a game.
