Everyone knows exactly what you are, but you just keep showing up to troll. I almost admire the effort. Almost.

I haven’t said one word promoting ND going after Daniels.
d note as much.
I posted it because I thought it was interesting and relevant. If I wanted to advocate for ND going after Daniels, I wouldn't have hesitated to say that. I'm not shy. Honestly, I had not even given real thought to whether ND would interested, whether Daniels would be interested, or whether it would make sense on either end. I had just seen the information before putting it on the board. I'm not responsible for you misconstruing things. If you INFERRED something, that's on you ... I did not imply anything. The authors of the linked article fairly implied JT/ND was "worth a look," but I didn't write the article. My correction on your comment about Daniels taking "a dozen snaps in two years" was just about getting information correct. Sorry.

He claims that he used to be a Notre Dame fan, but hasn't been for more than a decade. He just trolls here. Openly. For whatever reason, Frank lets it go on. emasherton (that's "Notre shame" backward) once referred to ND football players as "pedophiles" on the board. I assumed he'd get the boot, but ... high level of tolerance here, I guess. Don't take him seriously. Many suspect he's really a Michigan fan. Not sure about that. One thing is for certain: he is 100% troll.

"Real football" is played in the South; paper football is played in North Bend.
I am probably much older than you, and, am from a southern state. The SEC is ,and , has been outstanding, but the rest of the country has not given up the game. I am more concerned with college football generally due to the portal and payment rules.
I get fans of a team coming together on a message board due to shared interests. I honestly cannot wrap my head around someone who is not a fan coming to a fan message board just to pee in the punch bowl. It's just bizarre to me. I guess there must be something that motivates trolls to be trolls. But I sure as shit can't understand it.

I already knew -- we all already knew -- that you are not a ND fan. I don't really care "why" you are not a Notre Dame fan. Don't be a fan. Not everyone has to be a fan of the same things. My question was aimed toward the mentality of being a troll. It baffles me. I cannot wrap my head around the idea of going to the trouble of maintaining a presence on a fan message board just to be negative toward the thing that has brought the fans together. What makes someone be the turd in the punchbowl? Baffles me.
The thing to do is just ignore them. I know that's hard, but eventually they go away.

Does anything prevent him, or any other troll, from just registering under a different name and moniker and continuing to spew his garbage? I would hope you can at least block his IP address, This clown has been here awhile. I'm really surprised that he was allowed to carry on as long as he has after some of the crap he's posted.

I like to think we can deal with trolls based on intellect and reason. Criticizing player performance is fine, so long as good taste is observed, but "Buch Fuck" isn't going to work. emahserton got a short suspension and a warning, so he can come back, but he must behave. Or else.
If we started tossing all of the trolls, there wouldn't be anyone left on the Open!
It actually states that on the rules page. This guy is the furthest thing from a fan. He disparages players, coaches, and the school with every post. Thanks for suspending him, but a banning is more fitting, IMO.
can be numbers on the open...huh?
You and I can have an argument or debate about something, but it's ok because we are both genuinely concerned with the same thing, so our debate comes from a place of honesty. Trolls are like a cancer, you can't debate with them as nothing they say can be taken in good faith.
Imo as soon as a troll is identified, they should be launched permanently.
Trying to deal intellectually with someone who's not interested in an intelligent conversation is a fool's endeavor. That only plays into a trolls hand, and it drags the other person down as well. I have never engaged with this character and I wish others would ignore him too. That being said, his discourse rose to the level of irritation that was hard to ignore. I get that you guys can't moderate every post on the message board, but when someone is obviously only trying to enflame, then that person needs to go. So, like I wrote, it is good news that he/she will be on a bit of a break from the board.
They called off the dogs after the first quarter.
You didn't belong with us big boys.

..because it kinda seems like you don't.
This response is for Holybull, but it goes hand in hand with what you just said, and you're exactly on point.
Early in his career (in the 80's and early 90's) with the 49'ers, Steve Young would take off running at the first opportunity that he saw, and was though of more of a runner than a pure passer. This was a big source of frustration for players like Jerry Rice, John Taylor, and Brent Jones, since they were just on the verge of breaking things wide open right as he would take off scrambling. There were many a player clamoring for Steve Bono to be the full time starter, since the offense had worked almost as well as it did when Joe Montana were playing.
It really wasn't until 1994 that he finally learned to stay in the pocket, and be patient for the receivers to get open (which they usually did). He'd only take off if there were no other option, and his patience paid off in the form of an Super Bowl manhandling of the Chargers that year. That was arguably the year that he became more of a true QB with mobility, rather than a running QB.
Sounds confusing.
At this level mobility has been a crutch, look at all those times Book took off running before going through his progressions, all that did was shrink the field for the defense
We’ve had countless mobile QBs over the years, the only one where it worked out was Brady Quinn because he was a passer first and would stay in the pocket. Having Brady really opened up the offense because the whole field had to be defended because of his arm, but he also could run for 1st downs when needed.
With all the Kelly mobile QBs, most cant throw, so the offense becomes unbalanced and we have to run the zone read gimmick to try to come up with a run game, its a flawed strategy, but works when we have a talent advantage, but weve seen what happens when we dont
i understand that this strategy has been successful the past 5 years, but im tired of having no shot against elite teams
Those elite teams have essentially built the death stars in terms of roster, we have to have an elite QB that is a jedi knight to take them on

And never could make it big. ;-)

Assuming you have a defense like Georgia…
