There's a buzz about Jaden Mickey. Cam Hart says he plays bigger than he looks and has a swag about him.
Better get him in there asap.
mentality AND ability I'd give him a go asap. Playing CB is so much about mentality...once it's gone..it's hard to get back. Lewis got so burned that game, not sure he'll recover by tOSU...hopefully this winter, spring, and summer he'll use it as motivation as well as Mickey pressing for his spot and be ready for the challenge. Yet, you need dawgs at CB...killers. Gotta start Lewis but if he slips up once...and Mickey is playing with that energy...give him a shot at JSN but protect him. Can't come with this play not to lose mentality the previous regime ran out there with. Time to flip the switch. If you gone get beat...get beat giving them hell...make it as hard as possible not hoping they guess wrong. we have the athletes...let em play.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but Clarence Lewis, who had a pretty good freshman year as a field cornerback, looked like he was playing out of position last year as the boundary cornerback.
It reminds me of what happened in 2004, when we stuck Mike Richardson at the boundary spot, and he got badly toasted. Once we shifted him to the field cornerback spot in 2005, he did a fine job, and became one of the better cornerbacks that ND has seen.
I would say let Cam Hart play the boundary position, since he works better in those high stress, press situations, and let Lewis play the field, where he has time to make adjustments. If he can't play at least as well as he did in 2020, then it would definitely be time to let one of the younger guys jump in.
