He played with Elway. After Military ended up at ND Law....a friends for decades who know his game.
His thoughts
1. ND run game is lined up dumb. Tight formation. They must spread out receivers. Put both TEs in slot.
"look...they are lined up 7 tight...and always run second and long. We counted 7 of 9.
So, third down and 4-6 yards...duh play calling is awful. Look at QBs eyes. He only focuses on #87.
2. They have one weapon to throw to. The kid who is supposed to be a good WR, he cannot get space against man to man coverage.
3. At half... "you told me the running back was a bull. Has he carried 3 times? They give the ball to the smaller back into the A hole"
4. This ND team needs a rejuvenated/rethought Offense or get a new OC
It looks like in fairness to him, he is not dealing with USC talent.
Games end..."I am stunned. We have a weak LB group and they were never challenged it pass coverage.
Then his crown jewel.."At least Kelly would be drilling them new assholes. This guy looks like he is a deer in headlights.
Is he their friend or coach?
1. Yes, please. Nothing like running a slow developing, read/zone scheme, but not giving the RB's space or holes to pick from. Seen that movie before.
2. Not true, ND had guys running wide open all night (just like Book, Wimbush, Kizer, Zaire, Golson, etc., etc.....), the QB just doesn't see them or isn't looking for them. Probably the latter. Always struck me that the QB's under BK, and now TR, have too much they are trying to process play after play. 1-2 reads is all you need against most teams and it's probably shouldn't go to the guy that's double or triple covered.
3. Truth.
4. For the love of god, pleeeaaaase!!!!
LB's are thinking too much instead of just balling out. Hopefully that'll correct itself once they are more comfortable with what AG wants them to do. Too much talent there to be playing so passively. Watching Liufau play the run vs how he attacks when blitzing is like watching 2 different players.

We have a decent but not great D that should keep us in games.
The O is a dumpster fire of a train wreck.

space on the guy who ended up intercepting the forced underthrow to Mayer.

BK had some pretty bad losses to inferior opponents. He has had that deer in headlight look before, during, and after games. Nothing like the fanbase from a bad opponent analyzing our problems here. I guess we all do it.
of the opponents weaknesses. It's an extremely stubborn approach that always can be blamed on execution as he learned from Kelly.

hurt him. He doesn't have enough knowledge of offense to take control like Holtz would have. It's a shit show right now, and Rees has too much power.
