Why did he not get the bulk of the carries in the second half last week. 8 Carries for 49 yards. The only effective runner. Correct me if I’m wrong. I only seen him get 1 carry in the second half.
I think platooning three running backs is insane
Estime should be the starter
Diggs Should be the back up and the change of pace guy
Tyree should be moved to slot receiver because he’s too fast and explosive to not play
looks great when he has a hole and can intimidate people in an overpowering way. Estime is not nimble enough to escape a confrontation at the line. Diggs is better overall.
Estime is a throwback to the old fullback.

They have only one similarity. Both have 125 carries.
Estime has 9 touchdowns, Diggs 1
Estime has over 125 more yards
Estime’s longest run is 46 yds; Diggs 33
Yet you think Diggs is so much better?
Strange. But then again you thought the Navy receivers were tough to defend.
does get through a gaping hole, I would fake fall down if I was in the defensive backfield and had to tackle him. Yet, Diggs and this is where stats don't tell the whole story, is able to create runs himself without a gaping hole at the line simply because he is more nimble and cuts better to create his own room to run. His vision is superb.
You are beyond reasoning.
Why folks think Diggs should get most of the carries...Like if you have to hang your hat on something...what is Diggs trait that you're banking on? He makes good decisions and is a hard runner. He's dependable for sure and competes. But..he's not super quick, not a burner, not a huge guy. Now, I like him, let me make that clear. But nothing he does jumps off the screen for me. Estime's ability is CLEAR. Tyree's ability is CLEAR. When Estime gets the ball there's explosion, rumbling, I'd venture to say he's faster than Diggs. Tyree, especially this more muscular versions, is electric. His feet look lighter and springier than I've ever seen. He got 10yds on a swing pass in a blink. DIggs seems to me to be Darius Walker and the number 3 isn't the only reason. Walker was a good all-around back but didn't do anything spectacular. Not a burner, not a power back, not super jukey but can do a little bit of everything. That being said...I think they're using them fine but Tyree needs more touches with this offense needing scoring and Estime is an elite back period. You don't see size and that ability to move come along often so use it A LOT...more. Just don't understand why Diggs would get the lionshare of touches with two guys who are both as good at what he does but they have traits they're elite in.
this. Of course I like all three too and Estime becomes very intimidating when he clears the first wave of tacklers . At least you present your argument well instead of questioning the logic of my opinion in football like some ass hole who then throws out something about my claiming the Navy receivers were great. I simply was using the common knowledge that the triple option creates one on one receiver responsibilities in space that can be difficult to defend.
Like to the point where it seems you are watching a different game.
Estime and Diggs have the same exact number of carries running behind the same OL. Estime has 135 more yards, his avg is 5.7 to 4.6, his long is 46 to 33, his rushing TDs are 9 to 1, and his receptions are 6 for 96 to 4 for 70. It's not even close and I'll say this (again I like Diggs, as I said I think he'll play on Sundays) if Estime hadn't had those 2 or 3 games with fumbles early on, he would be the clear cut #1 right now and would probably already be over 1,000 yards.
The time when these two look the closest to each other, is when the plays are blocked up nicely. Diggs has the better lateral movement as the significantly smaller back and when you block Diggs to the second level I'd say he's right on par with Estime in open field effectiveness, just for different reasons.
When the plays are not blocked up well is when Estime separates himself...he is much better at creating yardage that isn't there. Now if you're talking about plays that are blown up in the backfield where defenders arrive just at/after the RB gets the ball, yeah Diggs has better initial quickness to maybe get back to LOS scrimmage instead of taking the 1-2 yard loss. But if you give both these guys clean handoffs where they can approach LOS unharassed,, but OL hasn't blocked up running lanes well Estime has shown far greater ability, like it's not even close, at creating yardage, using vision to find alt running lanes and even being nimble and getting small through tight spaces.
I like both of these guys, but there is a reason Diggs was doing nothing vs Navy while Estime was having success, Navy has a good run D and our OL was not blocking them up well. One back was still able to find success while the other was completely nullified...the difference here is quite obvious.

and Tyree should always be used on slip screens or out in the flats. FSU made a killing using Warrick Dunn this way. I'm not saying Tyree is Dunn. I'm saying he has that type of game breaking speed / talent if you get him in the open field.
Rees' rotation does not use the best of each backs talent, nor does it allow for them to get into any sort of flow.
Jim Kiick, Mercury Morris and Larry Csonka went undefeated.
receives the ball out of the backfield. Hardly any drops and gets upfield quick, productive and a threat to take it with his speed. Easy throws that Pyne can make effectively.
Truth is that 3 of our top 5 options are running backs. Getting them on the field more is a good thing.
the offense. Rees shouldn't be so afraid to be creative and do something that other coaches are not, while using the best of the talent he has. IMO, this shows how much he still has to learn.
Diggs has better lateral quickness while Estime is more of a straight power runner.
Either one serves us well.

They will both most likely play on Sundays, but Estime is a potential 1st rounder...Diggs probably 2nd or 3rd round.

I think we ran 18 plays in the second half. They brought the house every play he missed Mayer on a wheel and did not get the ball out fast enough to Lenzy for two easy scores. We were second and long with constant sacks on first down. They didn't use him right. Pyne sucks and Tommy has to go.

Ok must have missed the second carry. But that man should have 10 carries a half. Minimum.

I remember a few years back I liked Theo Riddick better than Cierre Wood and more recently Josh Adams more than Dexter Williams. They were all nice problems to have.
