It's no surprise that once the Poodle left, that the team went downhill steadily.
That was very tough stretch. The only 2 wins resulted in National Championships. But Notre Dame was 0-7-1 in road games which included some really brutal losses. The loss in 70 costed them a NC, and the losses out there in 72 and 74 were devastating. And if you go back to 64, that road loss to SC also costed ND a NC.
