Since arriving in South Bend, Notre Dame’s receivers coach had landed the following receivers: Braylon James (#125), Jaden Greathouse (#138), Rico Flores (#223), Kaleb Smith (#542), Cam Williams (#29), Isiah Canion (#194), Micah Gilbert (#199).
Kaleb Smith is not a possession Reciever. He’s one of the fastest WRs in Texas. Also, they’re in good shape with Robinson in this class. I have a lot of issues with the ‘24 class (mostly Defense), but Stuckey has been a God Send.

Anything is possible but, that number gets thrown around carelessly.
All ran at camps except Harrell who a FL track star!
Aaron Anderson 10.67 (4.39)
Christian Leary 10.48 (4.37)
JoJo Earle 10.91 as a JR (4.41)
Tyler Harrell 10.36 (4.24 at L'ville)

Chris Tyree - 10.74 (4.37)
Braylon James - 10.76
Deion Colzie - 10.82
Tobias Merriweather - 10.93
Braden Lenzy - 10.64
Not too shabby.
Where did you find an open 100 for James because those events are right after another?? Tyree would've been a 10.38-10-44 guy if not for Covid and basically missing his last 2 years of outdoor Track.
I'll try to look later.
They are run right after another and I've never seen a 100 time for Braylon James of TX but found another Braylon James. I remember coaching AAU and saw him run it with the Thunderboltz but it was somewhere in the mid 11 range but he was probably 14, but I'll search that.
There are very few legit 4.3 guys in each draft.

Waddle beat him as a Freshman and Ruggs returned the favor then Waddle again but the guy ran 10.65 as a Prep Freshman that's flying.
I'm not looking them all up. I might have missed Waddle when I looked at combine results. Feel free to post official combine results for the others.
He ran the fastest 40 time while he was at 'Bama on the 2013 and 2014 teams.
Then we can compare Bama's actual WRs to ND's.
Malik Benson 10.38
Isaiah Bond 10.46 (4.37) as a JR
Kendrick Law 10.48w (4.41) as a JR
Jaren Hamilton 10.91 at 14 (4.39)
Cole Adams 10.65 & 6.98 60m (4.49) as SO!😳
Kobe Prentice 10.71 (4.38)
had trouble covering the Ohio State speedsters in the bowl game. SC, GA, Bama, OSU, Clemson and Michigan all have very fast guys...
I remember watching him at the AAU meets guy could run low 10.4s.
Which is what the OP's point was.
Then a notch below you have Colzie then Merriweather who has a nice blend of size and speed but a long strider and then Braylon James in the same mold as Merriweather. All the other guys are possession guys who wouldn't break 4.5

big frames to grow into. This could just as easily be attributed to Al Washington. In the end, it is a team recruiting effort but they definitely have a model they are going for at each position and Freeman is the guy with the final say on what that model will be. I love the model they have and the recruiting operation as a whole.
And I agree with you, the model at WR is definitely the 6'2"-6'3" and 200+ pound types.

Merriweather and James are really the only possibilities on this roster that have played exclusively at WR! I know Tyree will be in the slot
It's was ugly football, but effective. Cardinal WR were big, but not that athletic, and would box out smaller DBs for the ball. Given Stanford had an old school ground and pound, could be that's how ND rolls...

ND had a great O-line and couldn't budge Clemson in the playoffs. Georgia's defensive is the same. Their just to athletic.

Witnessing what U of Owe does to recruit elite players indicates ND can never consistently get that manner of player. That's a very good thing..

Ones that will get playing time. There are more on the way too. The athleticism in the WR has improved substantially.
For every Will Fuller, we get far bigger, stronger, slower WRs that are excellent at what they do. ND isn't the choice of the Randy Moss type receiver, otherwise the roster would have 5 star WR. But, that doesn't mean the guys at WR can't do their assignments just as effectively...
Crazy how Holtz would get these guys in abundance and have to convert them to Defense alot of times.
BTW, Cam Williams is ranked as a 5 star. And so was what's his name (seriously, I can't remember his name) who transfered out a couple years ago.
That being said, tOSU is the gold standard for WRs and we aren't on their level. I'd put ours up against Bama's or Clemson's though.
'Bama had three 5 stars in the PORTAL alone and then brought in two more 5 stars and a 4 star! Just insane
