The transfer portal of musical chairs, opt outs, premature departures the "The League" and a lack of loyalty for many players has contributed to the fire drill we now have in 'College Football' and it's beginning to show in attendance in all but the most important games as loyal fans of mid level teams are turned off by it all.

we are playing in. He proposes slicing 5 to 10-percent off salaries and TV deals to create a pot for all student athletes.
“We're all robbing the same train here. Like coaches, administrators, media, television stations, conferences, NCAA. I would say this, anyone who is profiting from the student-athletes right now, myself included take 5 to 10% less and maybe a 10 percent tax from the television station more, into one pot for the student-athletes.
I do like this idea but call it a non taxable stipend and not profit sharing. NIL should be taxed, stipend from schools should not. And the amount should be regulated by NCAA (or whoever is overseeing collegiate athletics) to create an even playing field. The amount should be open to and be equal for all student athletes, including fencing, tennis, track and field, football, basketball, etc. The amount should not be exorbitant, befitting of a student and their lifestyle. Schools should cover 100% of medical expenses for injuries incurred while playing college sports.
We must never treat students like employees, who can be fired and even sued. They are students first, athletes second. Why? Almost ALL of collegiate athletes will not be making a living playing sports after their time in their universities. We should establish a minor league football, like baseball. Attending a university and playing collegiate sports should be a choice AND a privilege. You want to go play professionally after high school in a minor league in _______? Go for it! You are 18, you can make that choice and really be treated like a professional….or an employee. You want to take advantage of 4/40 while playing collegiate sports at Notre Dame, Ohio State, U of Florida, USC, Stanford, while having maximal exposure on TV?
College sports needs to remain collegiate, and primary goal of the universities should be to educate EVERY student, including athletes, to become a productive part of society. Using students for revenue and discarding them with sham degrees is a huge disservice to our youth, especially those who are less privileged.
A collegiate program with stipends and health care would be a true college game. Let those that want to be pros go pro in minor leagues.

If it truly comes down to the Big and SEC as constituted today, the game will be worse off.
