now has a different view of federal aid to hurricane victims.
I'm sure I've heard someone say....
Weird right?

But yes, you are correct. All politicians do this. The ones you love and the ones you loathe. To say that it's a result of anything other than self interest is poppycock.

Gotta do something! Easy to rail against or support things that don't effect you directly. But when the rains come down or the browns show up....ya gots to do sumpin'!

deserving of federal relief, but those suffering from Ian would?
Tip of the hat to Governor DeSantis’ command and competence in managing a horrific Cat IV hurricane.
Although Florida has collectively proven to be get better and better in preparing and dealing with hurricanes, DeSantis has demonstrated impressive leadership thus far. Calculated (and politically a gift for re-election), but definitely competent. President Biden has been equally impressive.
Hurricanes seemingly brings out the best in America, neighbors helping neighbors, strangers helping strangers, other States helping Florida. It is the America I love.
DeSantis is still an Asshole at his heart, and would sell his mother if he smelled an advantage, but his command thus far in managing Ian demonstrates his ability to lead.
