There should have been a crushing red wave in these midterms, consistent with historical trends especially with inflation in play.
Trump is the dead weight. Contrast DeSantis who blew the doors off his opponent.
Time for the adults in the GOP to have the family conversation they should have had two years ago, especially when the Senate twice had Trump in its crosshairs at his impeachment trials.

This is how the Nazis took over Germany. Comrade Trumpsky = Hitler
Scum Republicans = Nazis

The exit polling reflects that abortion played a bigger factor than predicted.
Too many voters do not trust the “Trump” impact on certain GOP candidates. The GOP will adjust fire after these midterms.
Democrats will need to counter with a new face, bringing new energy.
it is imperative that they find JB's replacement...IMO, he's onboard with that...don't think ever envisioned two terms...he correctly viewed his role as a trusted centrist to rally all Dem factions against Trump...it worked...now time to pass the baton while continuing to pass legislation that benefits all Americans domestically, and helping Ukraine overcome Putin, internationally.
As for the Republicans...with Trump being the quintessential "Malignant Narcissist" that he is, he'll NEVER step aside...if he doesn't get the GOP nomination, he'll launch a 3rd party/write-in challenge that will definitely siphon votes from whoever does get it...this puts the GOP between a rock and a hard place for President, as the odds of Trump winning (fairly) are minimal. Note: it wouldn't hurt for them to come up with a solid party platform that clearly outlines what they'd do if they won the Presidency...that would be nice to see for all voters.
Best case scenario for Republicans...Trump gets convicted and incarcerated sufficiently enough before the 2024 election to put the money and focus on their nominee...and then telling DJT's base that "We Hear You", but it's either our candidate, or the Dems.
