It's a little late to be shopping for Thanksgiving dinner though. Sounds like we have more than a few procrastinaters out there today.

I hope they aren't shooting turkey. We don't have a lot of them in this area, and I love seeing them waddle through the fields.
Fattier than chicken or turkey. Less gamey than duck.
You're in TN, right? They are probably eating a lot of good grass and bugs out that way.
...I'll kill and eat anything, including turtles.

...is driving down the road with me and suddenly screeches the brakes. There is a snapping turtle crossing the road in our lane just waiting to be run over, apparently.
My wife puts the car in park, jumps out and grabs him/her by the carapace. They have very long necks and he tried to bite her.
Being a vet, she knew better than to grab it in the "landing zone".
She carried it back to the pond and let it go.
There were 5 cars stacked up behind us. I pulled out my crowbar from the trunk and kindly explained the circumstances to each of them.
Coincidently, I didn't receive any ill will.

Mind you, I dont have the knowledge that you wife has, so I was simply lucky to have grabbed it in the right spot.
As I was carrying it back to the side of the road, and as it was suspended by its shell, it bucked hard. I wasn't expecting it -- and I'm still not quite sure how it did it -- but it bucked hard enough to elevate my arms a few inches more into the air and almost cause me to drop it.
After I set him down, he stretched out his legs and neck as far as they could go, then opened his beak up wide, giving me the nastiest "go fuck yourself" look that I've ever seen.
Needless to say, that ingrate better hope I don't have a crowbar on me the next time I see him.

I spend a lot of time thinking about moving to Texas or Arkansas and making a living trying to cull those suckers.
Gamey as hell.
Only the young ones are keepers.
Very tasty.

Was really good. He said he had like a 100 more pounds of it so I got that going for me.
Doubtful it was a feral hog though.
