Yup, just as I expected. Boring as fuck and it confirmed I hate soccer.
I don't blame people for not liking it. It took me years of watching my daughter before I started to understand the game well enough to appreciate the nuance of the movement and the incredible skill these guys play with.
It's weird to watch a game for the small moments of genius rather than the scoring. I get it.
Maybe I’ll give it another shot when they play Iran. But if Cornhole is on, I’m watching that instead.
soccer as a sport to watch, soccer is still very good though. From watching soccer to watching football it's an upgraded experience. I think if you don't have a soccer team to root for, the only way to become a fan of both soccer and football is learn to watch and enjoy soccer first and watch football later, i.e. saving the best for the last. That's my journey. It's hard to go the other way around since it would be a downgraded experience.
Rationally I know football game is better to watch, but emotional attachment to soccer is already there. It can't be disappeared. That's the reason I can enjoy both soccer and football.
Loving softball like I do. Also, growing up in South Philly, soccer wasn’t played. Everything else was. I will say the atmosphere at the soccer matches seem like they are awesome. I know Tampa has the Rowdies so I may have to check one of their games out.

Not because of games like this though.
The original size was fine when goalkeepers were 5'10". Now they're 6'6" with incredible wingspans and athletic ability.
Kill Iran!
If they play like that against Iran, then they are through. If they play like they did against Wales, they will be packing their bags.
Hair will grow on your palms if you do.
