Don't get me wrong, as a two time loser at marriage, I'm not keen on an eternal "bond,"
But I always respect the religious beliefs of others so long as they do not impinge on any of my rights.

This has nothing to do with "The Woke"...it's just the LSJUMB doing parodies...some good and
others, not so good.
The very first time I saw them was on TV and I couldn't stop laughing as their Drum Major led the band in a 'Wet Suit', Swim Goggles and Flippers in a parody of Lloyd Bridges and his TV show "Sea Hunt"...while the standard half-time marching shows of every other university band are enjoyable, they can get a bit boring, and frankly I would always look forward to what Stanford's band would do...especially when they played against USC...but sometimes their barbs hit close to home (e.g. 1991 and 1997 vs. ND)...I've learned not to take it too seriously...

I think the Stanford band is hilarious
A few years ago they got in trouble for doing a little bit about the potato famine at halftime against ND.
Too soon, I guess.
People have to lighten the fuck up.
They aren't funny because they are smug & condescending. Rice's band is funny.
A smug and condescending attitude will ruin any humor.
Maybe they were funny other times?...But the times I saw them, they were not funny. They were entitled boors. My personal opinion, of course...But I know a Stanford grad who was quite embarrassed by them.

I think it was Dave Chapelle who said that if you have to look around before you say a joke, to make sure "they" aren't around (whoever they are), then you probably shouldn't say it.
It wouild be healthier if nothing offended you.
Humans are only offended by speech that triggers a repressed anxiety.

It seems that, in this case, the Stanford band looked around to be sure "they" WERE there.
Mormons seem to catch this kind of thing very regularly. It is a compliment to them that they rarely seem to moan about it. They must be able to finish the punchlines in every tailgate parking lot across the country. They have heard it all.
I think, if you're a Mormon, you'd better have a good sense of humor

Not that I have been heavily exposed, but I have never met a Mormon who was a jerk.
I've worked with a few Mormons, met some others when they were on their mission trip in Europe. They are all pretty easy to get along with. They don't make a big deal out of the restrictions like caffeine. I had more fun with the Utah fans in 2010 than I ever have with an opposing fan base. They were all Mormons but seemed to declare a booze amnesty or something. They were drinking like fish on the bus trip from Chicago.
Just 2 questions - which side of the fence would likely be offended by this display? Which side
of the fence would try and cancel someone they disagree with? While I agree with your statement about people "lightening the fuck up", you need to carry that message to the Liberal (sensitive) side of the country to try and make a difference.
