Great win - But I do have a question. Why is it, the US players were worn out
halfway through the second half and the Iranian players were not?
This calls into play, is conditioning not part of the USA soccer program?
It's more taxing to continually be chasing (which they were). Also....
their stress level was really high because they were scrambling to protect the lead. That tires you out too. Not that Iran didn't have any stress but, they are the more experienced team (able to relax more). I'm guessing Iran also had an opportunity to rest some players against Wales.
Personally I didn't like that Berholter didn't sub Musah. He was a huge liability with as gassed as he was.
Iran has no pace. Technically sound, disciplined and yes mature. But I believe they dont have a pacy
player. If you do, they would have made him substitute in last 20 minutes. It seems to me that all Iran players are same build, same height. LOL.
Pretty much true. As for the US, they need to learn to protect a lead.
They were playing with fire today. Hopefully they've developed some confidence now and can relax a bit.
On this US team I like Dest best, another fine product by Ajax. Don't know why Barca loan him to
AC Milan considering their Jordi Alba already 33 years old.
Dest was a difference maker today. Love the Wing Backs that can push up...
and create and be dangerous. He's the only one on the defense who has shown that ability.
