I think this was clearly a terrible episode in American journalism.
Where the veneer of impartiality was completely stripped away. The press put their thumbs on the scale against Trump. This shouldn't be surprising given the previous four years. Still, it was disappointing.
Journalism is dead. There are no reporters anymore, merely advocates. You must read everything with a filter now, looking for the bullshit.
I'm sure no laws were broken in this. There will be no charges filed. Hopefully enough of the citizens of the country will come away with the recognition that nothing that is written or spoken in the press should be completely trusted.

Sure, but we need to be clear that this is bigger than all that.
The monsters of history didn't act alone. They controlled the media and the controlled law enforcement. We'd be wise to drop the conservative vs liberal debate and remind people that these are the ingredients for real oppression. The tools that these platforms provided to the DHS are the building blocks of fascism.

There are some real idiots out there though.. They'll defend Trudeau for freezing the monetary accounts of people that donated money to truckers, but don't take a minute to go "wait. The gov't has the power to do that? They can just decide that they want to freeze people's accounts and then do it?" They don't think, "crap, what if this power fell into the wrong hands?"
