Always important to note that the lion's share of police are solid, professional, and carry out their duties in good faith. The code of silence (not being a tattle tale) has generally been the complicity for many such officers. I get it.

The video was disgusting.

It is a real problem that the entire nation is united against.

But, all they want to talk about is race.

There were some clear cut cases of police brutality that briefly united the nation, whites and blacks, Left and Right...everyone knew it was wrong, and everyone was outraged. Incidents like that always unite the nation. But, a united population provides no political advantage to the Left. So, the Left took the opportunity (with the Media's support) to gain political power by turning the nation away from the issue of police brutality, and toward the divisive issue of race...dividing an otherwise united nation within 24-48 hours of each event...leading to the Summer of Love Riots, and distracting people from the main issue of police brutality.

We will never solve the issue of police brutality as long as one party sees political advantage to divide Americans by race, who are otherwise united against police brutality.

Can we agree that discussions of race distract from solving the problem of police brutality?

It is only in your mind that police brutality cases see the light of day if the aggrieved person is one of color.

I was always against all police brutality. Problem is, my voice was not allowed to be heard above the race mongers. The Left changed the issue in the past into an issue of race. Maybe if it was always an issue of police brutality, and an issue of changing the training of police (which I've always supported) to keep them from using excessive force (instead of defunding them, or putting them through race training that had nothing to do with the problem), we might be making progress. As it is, we made no progress.

Race has always been a big component of police brutality. That is an undeniable historical fact.

It is exactly why Black Lives Matter garnered worldwide support from all demographics during the summer of 2020 and beyond. People across the globe agreed with the basic premise that people of all colors should be treated with dignity and respect.

It does not mean that all police brutality is based upon race or racism. No one has ever asserted as such.

Certainly it's done some good, certainly it's done some harm. The ledger between the two is where the debate exists.

Which was the goal, and which is why he supports it.

Normal people can do horrible things in the wrong circumstances especially when the group mentality takes over.

First off saturation squads like SCORPION are there for aggressive policing. They confront people in high crime areas and make lots of arrests. Anyone see a problem as to how that can morph into something not so good? They do help reduce crime, and in fact this crowd was recently lauded for their crime reduction efforts. They also produce plenty of EF claims like the guy selling loosies in NYC.

Secondly, did you see a police supervisor during the beating? I didn’t. You had five patrol officers left to their own devices in a saturation squad. No way that could go wrong.

Thirdly, I would bet the house that their training on this type of policing was woefully inadequate.

I laugh at the notion that the female police chief was some type of policing progressive.

You can’t train or supervise basic humanity. But you can do a lot to prevent this type of thing from happening.

All five guys feel entitled to beat a man for about an hour? You're probably right, but its hard to believe that something so awful can be explained so easily.
