I don't know why these Twitter hearings are considered embarrassing
As I work through these individual lines of questioning, there is some really good stuff in here.
I'm so confused about why this is a partisan issue. The mechanisms and tooling that allowed DHS and Twitter to suppress speech can be used against liberals and conservatives alike. It can be used to push both liberal and conservative agendas.
We don't have to turn everything into a left vs right issue. There are certain ideas that should be above the fray. I would think that restricting law enforcement from covertly working with media to form the common narrative would be one such ideal that we could all agree on.

This Politico article summarizes the situation...the party that views its "Benghazi" hearings as
effective political tools now wants to do the same thing with Twitter, etc...it is what it is...they can't come together on a clear plan to resolve much more pressing issues, such as Immigration Reform, Energy Transformation, Health Care Reform, etc....so, they do what they do best...do anything they can to 'beat' the other guys and stay in power.
Some couldn't care less about anything, other than themselves...like MTG...

And at least one member had personal grievances to litigate against Twitter. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) spent her entire five minutes for questions to talk about the nearly year-long ban of her personal Twitter account, stemming from tweets that promoted false information about the pandemic.
“You were censoring and wrongfully violating our First Amendment free speech rights,” she said. “Guess what? None of you hold security clearances, none of you were elected and none of you represent 750,000 people like I do.”
Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-Calif.) quickly responded to Greene, saying, “The gentle-lady was suspended for knowingly and consistently spreading conspiracy theories about Covid-19, which is shameful during a pandemic where millions of people lost their lies.”

They really need to use the same clown car the Dems have parked in Washington.

I don't know why it would be a waste of time to try to better understand the relationship between Twitter and the govt.
Perhaps a worthwhile project for a graduate student, like studying the endangered Hooded Grebe.
But, to lead the House GOP agenda out of the blocks ..... I can think of more pressing and substantive matters for Congress.
You obviously find the subject to be compelling. To each his own.
Maybe it's just silly me, but I have not seen anything re the Twitter narrative/outrage that makes me say "Holy Shit! How can the Government get away with that?"
It is difficult to understand why this issue (which has not been defined) garners so much attention.

It’s obvious. The Left doesn’t object to suppression of speech of opponents. They favor it.
But they do not want it done to themselves. They are simply overconfident right now that such a thing could not happen in reverse since they have so many people in place in the government and the tech industry. They do not learn from past history because they do not know it. They are actually poorly educated (not that a degree from today's schools does not necessarily connote actual education and development of critical thinking).
No one is paying attention to anything.
Most people only focus on day to day life. It’s only a thin slice of the population that carrs about political kabuki.
Also the CDC tellinng Twitter to censor Stanford & Harvard doctors in the name of science.
