The GOP House passed a bill to raise the debt ceiling, but conditioned upon dramatic budget cuts (i.e. hostage taking).

That led the adult (President Biden) to engage McCarthy, and reach a deal with meaningless budget cuts so that McCarthy can save face. The GOP crazies (hostage shooters) will vote against the revised legislation.

The revised bill will very likely pass, only because more adults (House and Senate Democrats) will vote for the revised legislation in order to ensure that we do not default.

Try to keep up, child.

If you disagree that spending cuts should be included with the debt ceiling conversation, make that argument. Don't spew a bunch of emotional rhetoric that completely misrepresents the truth. It's bullshit.

And out of the lives of children whose parents aren't able to ferret out every book their kids get from their teachers/librarians...people the kids probably think their parents trust.

This is not book banning. This is the school curriculums we are talking about. He is trying to get government endorsed indoctrination towards evil removed from schools.

Your kids can still look into genital mutilation and bestiality if you want at home (he is not banning you from doing that), but should the government be pushing that on them? I say no, and so does Desantis.

The teachers and school librarians do. You have no idea what books are on the shelves in their school.

and there have been zero complaints at their school as far as books in the library. It all starts with raising your kids…with that comes trust and honesty, I’ve found. Both of my kids have over 4.0 GPA. They both take advanced placement courses, neither does drugs or drinks. Oh, and neither are trans or gay. Just damn good kids that listen to the guidance of their parents.

Congrats on your kids but you are basing your position it appears solely on your particular family situation.

We haven’t had kids in high school for 9 years but I agree completely with DeSantis to get this crap out of the schools.

A) The claim is false. It's a process that decides. Material is flagged, and reviewed. The idea that a single person is removing books from shelves is false. We all remember Chris emoting about the Roberto Clemente book being banned, only to learn that it was simply reviewed and put back on the shelves.
B) Someone is making the decision about what kids are exposed to. We all have to decide if we leave it up to schools, or if we layer a review process on top of the schools' (individual teacher's and librarian's) decisions.

There is no candidate that wants to get the government out of that business. So, the government is deciding what the children are exposed to. DeSantis just wants to limit the harm done by getting the government out of its second line of business...cramming harmful progressive/leftist ideas down the throats of innocent children.

There have been several instances where elementary and middle schools have been found to have "This Book is Gay" on their shelves. If you are the parent of a 5th grader who stumbled onto that book and started reading through it, are you going to tell me you'd be happy with that teacher or librarian's choice?

My kids are likely no different from yours. It's a bit self centered for me to not worry about other kids as well.
