As Mitt Romney said, the willingness of Congressional Republicans not to move forward on immigration reform is “appalling.” Moreso, as Gov Newsom said, it’s “shameful” and “pathetically weak.”
I guess we have to pass it to find out what is in it. Until then, we just pretend we know.
And, of course, enforcing existing laws would solve the problem.

Sure, you have insurrectionists like Hawley.
And of course, a good chunk lack the moral integrity to take on Trump in public (contrary to what they say about Trump in private).
But, the reality is that Senate races are statewide vote counts, unlike gerrymandered Congressional districts.
Hence, the Senators have to answer to a bigger bucket of voters.
Keep in mind that landmark legislation is almost always bipartisan.
Compromise = better government.
