“Our investigation uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen,” Hur wrote.
“He knew he kept classified information in notebooks stored in his house and he knew he was not allowed to do so.”
BUT:
“In his interview with our office, Mr. Biden’s memory was worse,” Hur wrote.
“He did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended (‘if it was 2013 - when did I stop being Vice President?’), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began (‘in 2009, am I still Vice President?’),” the report said.
“He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died. And his memory appeared hazy when describing the Afghanistan debate that was once so important to him,” Hur wrote. “Among other things, he mistakenly said he “had a real difference” of opinion with General Karl Eikenberry, when, in fact, Eikenberry was an ally whom Mr. Biden cited approvingly in his Thanksgiving memo to President Obama.”
“In a case where the government must prove that Mr. Biden knew he had possession of the classified Afghanistan documents after the vice presidency and chose to keep those documents, knowing he was violating the law, we expect that at trial, his attorneys would emphasize these limitations in his recall,” the special counsel added.

He didn’t know when his vice presidential term began or ended. They won’t let him do a softball interview before the fucking Super Bowl. He is CLEARLY unfit. And his backup is a total moron.
This shuffling, incontinent geezer holds the nuclear football, you dope. And you want to set him up until age 85. Insanity.

Are you going to nitpick my language? Make a technical argument that Biden could be held responsible, but the special counsel just didn't want to hold him responsible because he felt bad for him given his diminished capacity?
Yeah, that is a winner. Go for it. Your technical defense will reinforce my general point.
Below you claim it said he was unfit to stand trial.
Those are not technical mistakes.
The opinion says he has memory issues which he does.it says nothing about his mental fitness or fitness to stand trial.
Do you think Biden is mentally competent to be president, even though he can't remember when his son died, or when he was in office, or that he claimed to talk to dead people 3 times this week? It is looking very bad for Biden. Very bad.

But Hur added that the evidence “does not establish Mr. Biden’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.”
“We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” the special counsel said.
“We conclude that no criminal charges are warranted in this matter,” the report said. “We reach the same conclusion even if Department of Justice policy did not foreclose criminal charges against a sitting president.”
In other words the first consideration was that the evidence does not establish guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. And he is a sympathetic old man with a poor memory. It doesn’t say he’s mentally unfit or unfit to stand trial.

that hold power by proxy are advising him to carry on. Not sure he even survives a 2d term which is sort of scary in its own right.
Worst, almost the entire Republican Party seems to have lost its way so there is unlikely to be a good alternative.
whats best for the nation.
released when in fact more were still in his possession.
To explain this, his lawyers are using the doddering old man argument that "he didn't realize" and " he forgot". FOUR times in a row.
And never once did the Biden DOJ raid Bideb's residence or buildings , but instead gave him a heads up and accepted his word each time.
Meanwhile, look at how they treated Trump with the midnight raid without warning for the only incidence when his lawyers and he were still negotiating the situation.
2 tiered justice from the Biden DOJ.

Biden was far more guilty in the document case than Trump, but i would just settle for equal treatment which will never happen in the Biden DOJ.
Do so. The you can weigh in, like an adult.

He did say that, though. An oddly gratuitous, unprofessional shot at the president.
Doesn’t mean it’s not true. And it worries every Democrat.
But it does mean that this Hur character is an asshole.
We know the GOP won’t on Dr. Demento.
Someone needs to tell Biden he is doing incalculable damage to the Republic by not stepping aside.

Odd, eh?

That was not the reason he wasn’t charged. It was a minor consideration added on for obviously partisan reasons.
But you won’t read it, so you won’t know.

Your technical argument, trying to differentiate between my precise words, and the precise words of the special counsel ("I did not, have, sexual relations, with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky"), only call further attention to the general point: Biden is unfit. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I now think Kamala Harris would be a major improvement as president.

Score whatever points you want against me here in the forum, but lose the main point: Biden is unfit.

Is it terrifying that that geezer is the only thing standing between us and four years of non-stop, destructive unpredictable constitutional crises?
You bet it is.
But there really isn’t a damn thing I can do about it, is there. We all just have to hope America votes for the geezer.

Edwards. The bumper stickers were “vote for the crook, it’s that important”. Edwards won.

You crazy morons are nominating this CLEARLY impaired old man.
It will come down to the really old man vs. the pretty old man who is a threat to the republic.
Not a tough choice.
Because we all know that Biden is not in charge.
Your idiotic denials of his dementia are shifting now (though you still hide behind the term "really old" rather than specifically saying the real truth).
There is a LOT that you can do about it...and you did for the past 4 years...you fostered this, and until now, you looked the other way.
You pretend to throw up your arms and say, "Oh well, nothing I can do but watch" after all of your long support?!
despite your hyperbole about Trump, we have a sampling of him as president - and he was good. I prefer that to having an unknown someone in charge who is not chosen by the voters nor answerable to them.

You were/are poorly thought out, Chris.
Remember how you scoffed at the thought of Biden having dementia? You still won't say it by name (now you've pivoted to "really old codger").
Remember when you were saying that there is no border crisis?
The list is so long.
