THIS is why I can't vote Dem.
They lard up innovation with woke nonsense.

we need DEI...
stupid, batshit crazy stuff said there as at any antifa or BLM rally.
as for BLM, in our neighborhood, there were lots of lawn signs in support of that concept...but certainly not the instances of violence...I think the D.C. demonstration is more emblematic of where that movement's support lies.

Deloitte has a program for Autistic persons...
Assimilation into the workforce doesn't just happen on its own...oftentimes incentives are required...have you got a better plan that won't take generations to achieve?

The world does not care about color... it cares about winning... especially when it comes to $.
merits and skills can be realized...and right now that's not the case...take a look at any gathering of the GOP...does it represent the demographics of the United States? If you were ever a Democrat, you'd have to acknowledge what former GOP strategist, Stuart Stevens, has written in his book "It Was All A Lie"...and that is the title of his first chapter..."Race, The Original Republican Sin"...
We need DEI to make full use of our Human Capital...so that we can WIN in all of our competitions.
If DEI were not imposed by political grifters it would not exist.

The AMA led the COVID lockdown insanity.
confronted with extremely deadly and transmissible novel pathogens...
...the AMA is clear headed in wanting to encourage the use of ALL outstanding and capable Medical Professionals...btw, there was a time when Women were not considered for training as doctors...but with 'DEI-like' encouragement, now virtually all Medical Schools are fully "integrated" with women...and based on national STEP test results, some of them have women as the top scorers in the nation...the same outcomes can be realized with DEI for future physicians and medical scientists of different races and gender preferences...

in their support for DEI programs underscores the argument in favor of them...not against...
You have a reading comprehension problem.
It seems you don't even know what you are arguing for, you've just cherry picked some groups that also support DEI. Because you support it blindly.
BTW, have you ever heard of a thing called "The Scientific Method"?
embrace and practice DEI...obviously, with no negative repercussions?...That is not blind acceptance...Now, how do you square that with your contention that it's harmful?
As for my understanding of the "Scientific Method", an MS in Engineering...experience in Failure Analysis and Resolution, as well as a Patent have enabled me to grasp the value of reality and data.
Let's just keep this discussion focused on relevant facts and evidence...so far, I'm the one holding the cards...you...not so much.
It's a combination of cowardice and greed.
representatives...no sane person would claim they are all "captured" and not expressing their true intentions.
The pushback on the insanity will be inversely proportional to the business climate.
You would want the most competent available.
Color blind meritocracy is the only path that actually works.
...from the attached AMA article...
-----------------
“Efforts to do away with affirmative action undermine decades of progress in creating a diverse physician workforce and will reverse gains made in the battle against health disparities,” said AMA President-elect Jesse M. Ehrenfeld, MD, MPH, ahead of his inauguration as president tonight at the 2023 AMA Annual Meeting in Chicago.
It’s necessary to “bolster the pool” of students from historically excluded racial and ethnic groups “who wish to pursue a career in medicine and the consideration of race is one of many parts of the equation—along with test scores, grades and interviews—when determining the mix of students that will result in a class of physicians best equipped to serve all of the nation’s patients,” Dr. Ehrenfeld said. “We cannot back down from efforts to boost the growing representation of talented and highly qualified medical students from historically marginalized groups.”

I hope you appreciate the sincerity of that statement.

Because there is a near infinite number of ways to categorize people and competence matters, except in academia and government.
If you get cancer, you won't be looking for an oncologist of a certain race, gender or creed. My point stands.
Demonstrated Competence...read what they have to say about DEI...and again...they weren't mincing words when they issued that statement. .
My take...you're wrong.
So, of course you will miss the point.
I've also posted Coleman Hughes' clips on creating a color blind society, this is the correct path.
One premise of DEI that is flawed, is that a random black person has less privilege than a random white person. Or a random woman has less privilege than a random man (what is a woman?!?! Oops). But take the case of the Obama daughters, by the time they were applying for colleges or jobs, they had more privilege than almost anyone else on the planet. This is why the categories don't solve any problems and create new ones.
takes a different 'tack' toward resolving it...I've posted his comments on that already.
Really don't understand how you can be so dense. DEI doesn't solve racism, in fact it promotes racism and exacerbates it.
precious human capital...that's flat out stupid...and produces sub-optimal results...again, I'll refer you to the example of women being accepted into Medical Schools...after much "DEI-ing"...
As Coleman Hughes points out attitudes on race relations have taken a nosedive since 2013. None of the shit your ilk has tried is working, it's making the problem worse.
Creating a color blind society is not "ignoring" nor is it "doing nothing", it's doing what MLK advocated for. And it is the only solution that could work in the long term while also probably in the short term.
You can't solve racism with racism anymore than you can solve hate with hate.
is misinterpreting "Color Blindness"...and essentially Ignoring RACISM...which both men recognize exists. So, if it exists...and is not acceptable...then action must be taken to eliminate it...I agree with Mr. Bouie.
Show me an example of inaction that rectifies a social ill. Sure didn't help our country back in 1776.

Did you actually listen to that whole debate or did you just Google criticisms of CH? I assume the latter. I just listened to the whole hour and Bouie continually constructed strawmen, while Coleman argued from his well researched position that he wrote a whole book on: return to the ideals that inspired the American Civil Rights movement. Because, it is when we diverted from these ideals that we regressed towards a more racist society, rather than existing on a clear positive trend line of less racism. Progress matters.
DEI can only result in an endless cycle of resentment and tribalism within people of all races and as such can never lead to a post-racial (or colorblind) society. This is obvious to anyone paying attention.
As Coleman states, colorblindness is a mechanism to fight racism no matter how much racism exists in society. It doesn't require benevolent overlords to monitor and tune policy, it works in every context.
so sanguine about it if you were on the short end of that circumstance...here's another view on the concept of "Color Blindness"...from the attached article...
------------------
Put simply, the Constitution does what the American people ask of it. When the nation accepted racial oppression, the Constitution allowed it. And when it determined that state-sanctioned racial discrimination was no longer tolerable, the Constitution nodded in agreement. If the Court now decides that policies attempting to right past wrongs are unconstitutional, they will be so until we the people compel it to say otherwise.
Americans will need to decide whether creating a nation that lives up to its founding principles is best achieved by a Constitution that sees race or one that ignores it. This determination is extraordinarily consequential because it will shape the contours of our democracy and the character of our nation in the decades ahead. And if history has taught us nothing else, it’s that ignoring race has not made the nation more equal.

This is the untenable and pathological unreality that both drives you and baffles me.
Like all “liberal” (sic) programs, DEI actually hurts its intended beneficiaries

conservative, Haley, and a left of center, over the hill 81 year old D. Haley would romp. Instead there is the choice between the ultimate loony tune, threat to the nation (also over the hill by the way) and the over the hill 81 year old. GOP owns this cultist feck up Champ.
clown when it had plenty of sane conservative choices who would easily win is disturbing. Biden is an incumbent prez so not much chance to unseat him over there. Not the case with the zzz’s.
