for unreliability. The father of a childhood friend of mine had a new XJS back then and was a motorhead and he had the same problems everyone else did. Beautiful-looking cars. It doesn't matter that it improved over time. The reputation always held it back.

You had to budget $2500-3000/year for it being in the shop. Said he has a loaner 2-3 times every year.
