Victoria Nuland's warnings about Putin have been realized and Biden's been consistent in his
support for Ukraine...as for her retirement, it was likely due to the selection of another, very capable, State Dept. staffer, Kurt Campbell, for the position she aspired to.
As for spending on Ukraine...Freedom isn't Free...if you're an American who treasures democracy and true freedom, you can't possibly side with Putin.

Did you not read CNN/Natasha Bertrand's article? Russia is out-producing the entire 32-country
NATO alliance by 4 to 1 in terms of munitions. Thus, even if we allocate another $60b to Ukraine, we have no hope at increasing munition production to a level close to Russia's.
He is going to keep bombing Ukraine to nothing, and a lot more Ukranians will die. If we reject reality and pursue our preferred outcome, we risk an expanded war and more Ukrainian loss of life.

Ukraine's border in 2022 as Putin's goal was to scare Ukraine into neutrality. When the talks failed Russian troops went to Kiev but 200,000 troops was obviously insufficient to hold a nation's capital when that nation had 45,000,000 people. Once those talks failed and Russia got beat back, he brought his forces to a safer area and mobilized his 150,000,000 people for a long war. At that point, it was obvious to Milley that Ukraine was at a high water mark and that's why he recommended Ukraine negotiate in 2022. The Admin rejected this, however, and so did Kiev. So here we are. Russia now has over 1,000,000 troops mobilized and has no shortage of more men, or more munitions. Meanwhile, Ukraine is running out of both and will get badly beat in a humanitarian catastrophe of epic proportions.
