Sues Apple for being a 'monopoly power' in smartphones.
Monopoly: "Exclusive control by one group of the means of producing or selling a commodity or service. A company, group, or individual having exclusive control over a commercial activity. A commodity or service so controlled."
Apple has about 23% of the global smartphone market. Doesn't seem very exclusive to me.
This will go nowhere.
Great work, Merrick.
joined in.
As someone who had to deal with Microsoft's monopoly practices back when, I'm glad to see that the FTC is still alive.
Capitalism depends on free markets...and there will always be those who seek monopoly power...ergo, our government's Anti-Trust Agency and Laws. Sadly, the GOP has maintained a Laissez-Faire attitude toward monopolies and it falls to the Democrats to maintain true capitalism...a bit ironic, given GOP narratives ;-).
