This is commonplace in our cities and there are numerous examples over the past several years of police chiefs coming forward to beg citizens to report homicides and other violent crimes. Victim and witness intimidation is the status quo, even when the victims are small children.

(nearly 3.4 million violent victimizations per year) went unreported to the police between 2006 and 2010."
As others have reported, as the population loses trust in the ability of the police to prevent or investigate crimes, accelerated by police defunding, reductions in services like 911, revolving door "bail reform" and other developments, fewer victims and witnesses will report crimes.

With regards to crime reporting, as I wrote a little while ago, San Fran has seen shoplifting plummet to almost zero over the past three years! Amazing!!!

offices. The idiots kept turning on her Apple watch which reported to her phone. She was able to give the police the exact address. Nothing. Didn't even go check it out. I know it's petty theft but it's pretty frustrating.
"The public" is the oppressor, while the perp is the oppressed. None of this is about "equal outcomes," as those on the right often claim. Instead, it's about inverting the hierarchy that they believe exists. Also, why has "protect our democracy" become the mantra? Because the architects of "reform" understand that citizens will lose faith in law enforcement, schools, courts, the voting system as they "reform" them. In other words, Americans will lose faith in democracy, and thus, the proper antidote is to accuse their political opponents of opposing democracy. This is how we can actually have the spectacle of advocates of police defunding, vote counts that used to take hours now taking days, pushing for voting rights for illegal aliens to cancel out votes of American citizens, removing political opponents from ballots, and on and on becoming the ones who claim that they are the defenders of democracy. As malevolent as it is, you have to give them credit for the execution of this political maneuvering.
