Unsupervised Ukrainian aid has sucked away the dollars. China cheers and Taiwan weeps.

It's even worse for annual retirement entitlements for folks who don't need it.
If you don't care if the world is run by repressive dictators just say so!
Now, I support the same thing wrt Taiwan and the Pacific wrt to China and Xi.
I do NOT support throwing good money over bad in a hopeless cause that will not only 1) prolong killing and increase the death count with no different outcome, but also 2) cause us to be vulnerable to another event in Taiwan and elsewhere in the Pacific with Xi who is just as bad of a dictator as Putin. At least in the case of Ukraine, there are neighboring western countries who will finally need to get off of their asses because they would know Biden isn't going to fund it all for them. We need to be paying attention to the outcomes that we can effect.
And don't get me going going again on how Biden facilitated this was. (Mr. "Minor Incursions are OK", Mr. Refuse to Help Ukraine As Russian Troops Amass At Border For months", and Mr. "Let's Help Vlad Finish His Pipeline That Trump Was Blocking So That He will Have The Money To Fund His Invasion").
Putin is the one losing this war long term. He can never conquer all of Ukraine and he cannot live with any Ukrainian independence.

Totally wrong.
I would urge you to read a bit about the Ford Class of carrier before posting next time, should you wish to hide your ignorance.
all from the public domain, but it is significant as it affects people that I love.
I am very well aware of the failures in design of the Ford - much more than you……I am also aware that it has many amazing upgrades. This has been well documented and is not a secret.
The Ford has served as a template -sometimes by negative example, and the Kennedy is expected by all to be the greatest badass carrier of all time.
Until recently, the many design woes of the Ford kept it in the Atlantic as a training group for officers, etc..
But the need became so great, that they actually sent her into the Middle East region last year.
The Kennedy is badly needed, and while the Ford was initially a disappointment on a grand scale, her class was preserved because it could be fixed and turned into what it was meant to be all along. The Ford itself has spent a very long time in dry docks, but the result has been a serviceable carrier.
This perspective was shared by both sides on the Kennedy after upgrades and redesigns were done. The loss of funding is NOT because congress lost faith in the Ford class, it was because of lack of money because of the incredible expense of the Ukrainian aid.
Stop pretending you are the expert in the room, doofus. The knowledge you think you have specially was merely being presumed by me.
PS - I am not pulling a Ty.
Unless you are just making all that up. Which is also possible.
…..meaning all of the ships in the carrier group need to be funded as a unit to guarantee a functional unit. This requires an incredible investment from congress who has become hesitant given how much they have been unexpectedly laying out in Ukraine (I also presume that you also are aware that money is fungible and that allocations between different programs do indeed affect each other - but just in case, I say it here).
The Navy believed so much in the Ford class redo that they have already committed to 3 carrier blocks - the Kennedy in 2025, the Enterprise in 2029, and the Doris Miller in 2032. The delay of these units in the face of Chinese aggression would be an incredible blow to the US. At the least, they need to finish up the Kennedy and get her out there……and it should have a much higher priority AT THIS POINT than pouring more good money over bad into the Ukraine loss.

Ukraine has Putin bleeding out badly and totally isolated throughout the civilized world. He's well on his way to a repeat of Soviet–Afghan war fiasco that brought down his precious Evil Empire.
.....you would think. But Brandon.
