As a species we seem doomed to be "lead" by those who have less interest in others than in themselves.
IF we have a choice in the matter (and for most folks on earth we don't) we choose whomever seems less likely to cause us harm.
Sadly, we are too often wrong.
However, this has never been more obvious to me in my long life than it is today.

Donald Trump...
Some contested the outcome, but ALL submitted to the will of the people and conceded soon after the election.
or are you like a typical DEM who ignores them.

Dems to the GOP thanks to Barry Goldwater and the “Southern Strategy”.
He embraced slavery, secession, insurrection and Civil War.
...the GOP...according to former Republican strategist, Stuart Stevens, now markets itself (using much 'code') as the preferred party for those who want White people to be in control...he explains all this in the first chapter of his book ("It Was All A Lie"), entitled "Race, The Republican Original Sin"...just look and compare any gatherings by the GOP, e.g. CPAC, vs those of the Democratic party...check the percentages for people of color...oh, and if you really want evidence of this, watch videos of the Jan. 6 insurrection...count the number of non-white rioters...you'll only need one hand ;-).

Yes, or No?
It's irrlevant that one might seem worse to those on the opposing side.
They all push the envelop of what they feel they can get away with... Trump just has less impulse control than most.

your term is apt.
It's always wiser to "suggest" a point of view rather than assert it.
2020 election?...the man is virtually the same age as JB and has many former aides, cabinet members, legislators, military leaders, etc. saying he's not only unfit for office, but a danger to the nation...do you think he's a wiser choice than Biden?...please assert your position.
...from time to time, that "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar".
Whereas your offering yourself as some arbiter of equivocation here...is utterly laughable. (IMO, of course.)
He more properly should have said "sometimes a cigar is also a cigar."
Just ask Bill Clinton.
example of all politicians and that none can be trusted?

The attached online book by Sam Liccardo (candidate for Congress in CA's 16th District) explains in detail his thoughts and suggestions for improvement in issues like Homelessness, Safety and Cost of Living among others. Sam did the same thing (wrote a book outlining his plans) before serving as a two term mayor (term limited) Mayor of San Jose, CA...his second term was won with 76% of the vote...can't get that without a lot of Independents and Republicans....i.e. he delivered on his plans.
Mayors have to deliver in the 'Real World'...he did that...and his background as a Santa Clara County Prosecutor - which included sex crime cases - and a graduate of Harvard's Kennedy School of Public Policy, shows that his mission in life is to be a public servant...and a leader.
My comments are based on personal experience and results delivered. I encourage you to read Sam's online book (attached)...not because any other poster would be voting for him, but because IMO he's an example of what to look for when deciding who's going to get your vote in any upcoming election.

This is the elitist fantasy world you live in... idolizing career poiticians with Ivy League connections.
They have zero connection with most people... and don't want to.
results of your decisions are immediately visible to all...and they deal with actual homelessness, public safety, and affordable housing, plus the need to maintain a tax base that allows for service to all citizens while still being able to attract businesses that are the real supporters of all civil services...then, there's Sam's face to face encounters with those who break laws ...even sex offenders...that too, is very real.
Just stop trying to invalidate every single politician and ignoring those who truly try to do their best...btw, in Sam's case, he was born and raised in San Jose...went to Bellarmine Prep...so he had added incentive to do a good job...his family lives there. Maybe you've given up, but some of us haven't.

btw, there were several other excellent candidates for the title of "True Public Servant" offered by others...i.e. your negativity is not justified.

However, there are people that are good in their core and think they can make change for the betterment of all.
Then there are some who strictly do it for themselves. There are more of the first than the latter.
