The nine black jurors could not go home after convicting OJ without serious repercussions.
Santa Monica had jurisdiction. The murders took place there. It was a slam dunk for jurors who weren't itching to stick it to the L.A.P.D. and had half a brain.
He claimed after the fact that the issue was the condition of the Santa Monica courthouse ("earthquake!").
Once that decision was made, the trial itself was a huge waste of time and money. That jury was going to do what it did, and Mark Furhman just gave them a scapegoat.
One of his songs was about murdering his cheating wife and taking her body down a mine shaft. Then there's "Hey Joe" by The Leaves (my favorite version, sorry Jimi). And finally, The Beatles "Run For Your Life". Pretty brutal stuff wrapped in melody and lyrics.

Also remember my MIL calling, asking why can’t they just go shoot him so she could go to bed. Sigh.

Unlike the sham of a trial in the 90's, he doesn't have social justice warriors and politically correct supporters helping him.
I think he'll find his punishment to be much more severe than what he could have received on Earth.

From the chase to the murder verdict, it was wild. The 90s were a more interesting decade than they get credit for.

They let a murderer simply walk because of his race. Shades of reverse Jim Crow.
