Bad news for fans of social chaos, I guess.
But it was just a post-pandemic wave after all.

......I have a question, since I can't read beyond this paywall. I thus googled the topic and found multiple such press releases across the Main Stream media...all referencing FBI data just released. That data, it was explained, was drawn from large precincts across the country, which in turn reflected their arrest and charges filed data.
If there are less murderers being arrested, and charged (stemming from factors such as a reduced police force numbers, reduced arrests out of fear of retribution, and large city urban DA's unwilling to prosecute cases), would this not affect the data?
Further, there was this warning about the incomplete nature of the data released with 21% of precincts not responding with data, and the data itself not being audited. Is this a responsible claim to be made given this (link included)?
Also, the baseline comparison point for the reduction is the record murder numbers at the height of the COVID epidemic which is like claiming credit for economic gains when comparing them to the depths of the COVID Shut Down.
To be sure, I am glad if murders and violent crimes are really down, but might this not just be a statistical game being played during an election year? Does your paywall article offer other information not available to me in a google search on the topic of the FBI data?
Also, if true and given the number of successful rebukes of gun control efforts during this time frame, would this not also suggest the lack of a need for the gun control efforts that were being justified by these high numbers when it wasn't an election year?

The article you cite says that 21% of cities had not reported yet. The article I posted has info from many of them.
Murder is down. Sorry if that does not fit in with your political narrative.

Or maybe it was lockdown frustration?
Masks (less oxygen to the brain)?
Fauci fatigue?
….notice that I include the FBI as part of the Biden Adm? It’s also amazing how every time, the data they release helps the Dems cause every single time. And when there is a “mistake”, it goes against conservative interests every time.
We all know the murder rate is up. Only Chris would think it’s getting safer year by year under Biden as he says the “data” suggests. Garbage in, garbage out. Data from precincts who benefit from a result of lower homicide charges in a study that did not audit the precincts cannot possibly be trusted. 94 didn’t address this - perhaps conveniently, but more than likely because he doesn’t understand it. It’s all mathy and stuff.
They will also present “data” that inflation is improved and in fact better under Biden, and that there are less wars, and that Biden was indeed the first member of his family to attend college while his grandfather played college football. You get the idea.

Unfortunately, it seems to be a pretty safe wager.

It would be very wise to be skeptical of this data from the Biden FBI in an election year (see my post above as to why), and even more skeptical of the conclusions being drawn from it. But, just meeting the libs on this with the data that they provided and not questioning it any further, this puts a dagger in the heart of their argument for gun control (pun intended).
