I have not seen any estimates as to this person's TBSA affected, but from the details, it sounds grim.
One year, my wife and I were at Yellowstone national Park a few months after some stupid college kids decided to drive down with beers and to the hot springs where a couple of them jumped in. They were helped out and made it to the hospital fully conscious and talking, but over the next week they progressively died from organ failure - there was only comfort measures that could be provided because they had been immersed and their TBSA was near 100%.
