A huge % of our time and money went into training that army. It has 350K soldiers.
If they are too corrupt at this point to fight off the Taliban - who, it is helpful to remember, have killed no one outside of the AfPak region - then fuck them.

I agree , but need to protect those working with our troops.
On the one hand, yes it's been 20 years and zillions of dollars. At some point you need to say, "enough".
On the other hand, I have little confidence that the Afghan army will win the fight and I have a notion that at some point we are going to wish we still controlled that airbase.
