They want to snuggle, keep the money flowing, and not hurt anyone's feelings. You have American Catholic universities celebrating Pride and blm. I'm sure that has trickled down to catholic high schools and even the lower grades. Loyola HS in Chicago being at the top of the list. If the sermons at Mass get any more generic, you might as well just post it in the bulletin for all the year's Masses and be done with it. My idiot Bishop of Gary sent out a special prayer via his Church email to all Catholics in his jurisdiction for George Floyd and those harmed by social injustice. He had a special seminar on racism that was not exactly fair and balanced. And then we wonder why attendance is down and many Catholic politicians act the way they do.
