They were nicer than they needed to be, but they were all actual students, so they tried to give them a little leash.

The article states, “According to the university, event organizers failed to secure permission to hold the rally, but it was allowed to proceed as long as there was no amplified sound, no tents, and as long as things wrapped up by 9 p.m.”
Therefore, this protest should have been shut down immediately.
Furthermore, in my opinion, even if they asked for a permit, it should not have been granted.
If they were truly antiwar peace protesters, they would be consistent and concerned about attacks from all sides. Instead, these protesters requests seemed quite one-sided as they were asking the University to “divest from companies that manufacture weapons, to reevaluate ties with Israeli universities, and to ease restrictions on campus protests.” The concern, or even acknowledgement for what happened on October 7th seemed completely absent.
Do these students and administrators believe ND wants a reputation of being an antisemitic anti-Jewish institution with Our Mother atop the golden dome?
These protesters should never be given permission to protest on Our Lady’s campus unless they can demonstrate their prior consistency by providing proof they were out bright and early on October 8th with their petitions to protest and condemn what happened the day before.
right? shut down immediately
Obviously, their interest is purely against the Jews and Israel...purely anti-semitic. They are not peace protesters, or anti-war protestors.

They are woefully ignorant to reality or willfully lying to themselves.
