Mandatory Vaccination
Got a call from a "ND employee" last week telling me that "things might be changing" on "mandatory student VAX" for entering Fall students. Anyone out there hear anything? I do know they hushed up the issue about a group of students who missed a final or 2 due to after effects of second dose a week before finals. One student in Walsh "major fluid" in an ovary. This whole deal is so corrupt when the developer of the mRNA program is taken off Facebook after stating some issues...negative ones.

My kid starts this Fall at ND - was expected to get it. Haven't heard of any changes. You can
apply for an exemption.
I don’t blame the admin for requiring vaccination.
I especially think it’s the right call with this new variant spreading quickly. From what I’ve read it’s much more transmissible and can make even the young quite sick. I wouldn’t want it on my campus. I don’t know about the undergrads, but I did hear there were no issues or problems with the law students getting vaxxed.
Educational institutions have always had medical requirements
On the other hand, none of these involved “experimental” vaccines. I got mine but I have always trusted the odds. I do have a few phobias (sky diving and bungee jumping for example) so I am empathic toward those who are a little paranoid about this vaccine.
And then there is the racial issue. Based purely on personal observations, it seems to me that people of color are less enthused about this vaccine… at least if who is still masking is an indication.
I would like to see allowing those not vaccinated to attend but they must wear masks. Most of those folk already do.
Dunno about most of the unvaccinated wearing masks.
Not here in the heart of MAGA nation they don’t.
Your mileage will vary on what the suitable response by a university should be. Mandatory vax though after millions of safe shots is clearly not unreasonable. No one has to attend a university requiring it and there are plenty that don’t.
If you are worried about the mRNA technology, get the J&J vaccine.
There is now a sufficient supply of all three of the vaccines in the USA—I can understand young people of child bearing age choosing a vaccine based on a more traditional technology. I can’t understand not getting a vaccine at all.
Just get the vaccine. It’s not complicated.
Otherwise send your grandkids to Bob Jones U.

Several people have been advised by their doctor not to get the vaccination.
People who have had COVID, have the antibodies, and have other conditions such as blood clots, pneumonia, sarcoidosis, etc.
Why make a stupid statement when you clearly have no medical expertise?
This could be communicated so much more effectively.

Pretty sure that ND would accept a Dr's note stating student already had COVID.
The data is pretty clear (despite Fauci's stupidity) that the vaccine is not necessary in those cases and does pose a higher risk to those getting it under that circumstance.

It is absolutely deplorable that Fauci and the CDC were advising those with prior infection to get
the vaccine anyways at one point. They had no data, they knew this wasn't the case for any other infection for which there is a vaccine, and they knew that if they didn't go full in on "vaccine always good", they would face MSM and Biden admin repercussions at the time.
