...from the attached CATO Institute article...

By November 2020, the Trump administration reduced the number of green cards issued to people abroad by at least 418,453 and the number of non‐immigrant visas by at least 11,178,668 during his first term through November 2020. President Trump also entered the White House with the goal of eliminating illegal immigration but Trump oversaw a virtual collapse in interior immigration enforcement and the stabilization of the illegal immigrant population. Thus, Trump succeeded in reduce legal immigration and failed to eliminate illegal immigration.

So, there goes VDH's #1 argument...as for U.S. Debt...check out my previously posted chart of increases over the last 100 years...and note the correlation with Tax Breaks, starting with Reagan, along with the 'Laissez-Faire' attitude toward Financing (e.g. CDS's) that led to the "Great Recession"....VDH has some serious 'Blind Sports' in his analysis.
btw, "Governing" isn't DJT's thing...and the results prove it...care to disagree?...then let's talk about COVID-19...Infrastructure...Tariffs...Tax Legislation

Says “Failed to eliminate illegal immigration”. Yeah, no shit.
By flooding the country with illegal aliens who will not assimilate they shall destroy the nation.

elections result is not as important to the left as to the right. Indeed. The right put all their hope on presidential election outcome. If they lose presidential election, they will have nothing in power (again, except SCOTUS). But the left, if losing presidential election, will still have education, media, legal... all these institutions they controll, which as a whole is more important than president alone. So, the left dare to make unpopular policies even if they lose presidential election, but the right don't. The right don't have the luxury that the left have.
The root of all these can be traced back to a generation ago, i.e. 25-30 years ago when the left took over the most important institution: education.
Why run Biden, why allow Biden to (probably) lose? You could throw a more aesthetically pleasing, yet equally controllable figure like Newsome in there and guarantee victory, probably for 8 years.
He and his handlers are daring v to re-elect him. And they just might. If they do, then they are validating his anti-American approach. If they don't, his opponent takes flak to clean up the mess.
Biden always was a dolt, but he's basically been turned into a Jimmy Carter level village idiot.

The Dems aren't going to replace him, not only because of that, but because then Kamala would have to be the nominee. They could not engineer it for a white dude to ascend over her. Reminder: conor and many others defended basing the VP choice for a feeble old man upon race and gender. This is what they get. That part is delicious.
...top. Not vice versa...
During the transition there were numerous stories of Biden campaign people being pissed because they were not being given the customary administration positions commensurate with the work they did on the campaign. By and large these positions were being given to former Obama administration people...to continue his "good work" presumably...

through Congress despite the having the slimmest of majorities and folks like Sinema and Manchin to deal with his first two years. Compare and contrast that to Orange’s ineptitude his first 2 years when the GOP controlled Congress the same way. But man, did the R’s sure own the libs as they fought the culture war while Biden was getting his way. Shame on them. They cannot govern, just create chaos under Orange.
