While misguided, propaganda media in this country blame Biden for not doing more to get back Israelis with dual citizenship, look no further than Netanyahu's uncontrolled self.
Why it matters : Netanyahu's remarks walk back an Israeli proposal for a three-phase deal that would lead to the release of all remaining 120 hostages and to "sustainable calm" in Gaza.
More than 37,500 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, according to local health officials.
Netanyahu's comments contradicted statements by Biden administration officials who in recent days said Netanyahu and his aides had reiterated their support for the proposal.
In recent weeks, Netanyahu's radical right-wing coalition partners, ultranationalist ministers Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, threatened to leave the coalition and topple the government if the proposal turns into an agreement.

I am a little baffled that anyone has strong feelings either way on this situation, there are no obvious solutions.

Like T3k and Frank said below, Israel needs to neutralize Hamas as much as possible. And you mention a 2 state solution?!?! No way. Not until the Palestinians denounce Hamas and the other terrorist organizations in Gaza.
in mind.

solution, and his promotion of Hamas as a counterweight to the PLO directly led to 10/7.
Having said that I do agree that Israel needs to eliminate as much of Hamas as possible, especially the leadership. Sinwar was betting that the US and rest of the West would not allow the destruction of Hamas due to the carnage and civilian deaths it would cause. He bet wrong and they will get him.
Hamas wants a 1 state solution, and is willing to sacrifice its own population to get it. They wanted this attack. They fucked around too much, though.

He was using Hamas as a counterweight to the PA including giving them some funding rather than actively opposing them before 10/7. He was asleep at the switch as to the real threat due to his obsession to avoid a 2 state solution. His actions and inactions before the attack are close to criminal in negligence.
It was offered several times, but no Palestinian could accept a 2 state solution. They want a 1 state solution only.

They are showing themselves to be tactically good but strategically awful.
All Israel can do is fight them continuously. You can't turn the other cheek when your attackers are filming themselves joyfully torturing and killing children in their homes.
Give it another 100 or so years, and the Muslims might get tired of the violence like the Irish finally did.

Here’s a simple proposal…
If Israel laid down their arms, there would be genocide not seen since the holocaust. If Hamas laid down their arms, there would be peace.
It’s impossible to negotiate with terrorists.
But giving a little thought to what happens afterward would be wise.
And it doesn’t seem like they have given any.

Israel is tired of hearing it.

support doing that.
They do not want a cease fire, they are not going to stop, they don't care about their own people. In fact, the more Palestinians who die, the better. There is no bargaining with these people, there is no negotiation.
