The Kursk adventure (probably intended to seize the nuclear power plant there for leverage) has already cost Ukraine 50% of the invading force and depleted their front lines in Donbas as it stole assets from the front to invade Kursk. Russia didn't divert troops to Kursk but called up more, and is now methodically plowing through Ukraine's depleted defensive lines in the east. The Kursk adventure has changed Russia's paradigm from a special military operation to more towards full out war. Ukraine has almost no air defenses left and now Russia is targeting the energy transmission and distribution assets, putting Ukraine in the dark.
Every single weapon from the West that was supposed to change the calculus on the battlefield has failed. Ukraine has its precious F-16s and ATACMS now and they're doing nothing.
Chris L's fanciful idea that Ukraine will fight to a stalemate was ridiculous from the start. Ukraine does not have the men and munitions to match Russia. It was always going to lose.
You would think that after sending 700,000 Ukrainians to their deaths, it would be more than Orban and Germany who would want to end the war, but here we are: a complete dereliction of duty to the human race by our leaders.

Cole has been consistently against this no win war. The time to win it was back before Putin invaded
and Biden/Harris would do nothing to help them with arms as Putin amassed troops on their border for over a month. Harris was sent over which was, of course, useless. Joe also gave Putin the green light. After the invasion, Biden/ Harris still wouldn’t give arms early when it mattered most, but only when Ukraine held out against all odds and it became politically expedient to do so.
That time has passed. More are dying because of our policy, and the same result will occur anyways.
That is a big difference from “supporting Putin”.

I never said Putin won't agree to a peace deal. Rather, Putin and Zelensky had a peace deal
before the war started and then soon after the war started, but BoJo and the West told Zelensky to rip it up and fight.
Putin wants a peace deal because a negotiated resolution is better than a forced surrender as the West will never accept the latter and continue to give Russia problems on its Western border.
