If the US was facing a Zombie apocalypse and assured if we took a vaccine it would end, 100% of the population would take it, right?
What's the difference when it comes to Covid? For every 5 people who want to do their part and get vaccinated there is 1 who says "I don't give a shit, if I get it I get it!" That is pure selfishness and un-Patriotic.
Everyone including community leaders, politicians, etc need to do their part. Otherwise we are just going to stay in the covid hamster wheel.
They lack the objectivity and sophistication to make smart prudent decisions -- e.g. -- voting twice for Trump and swallowing FaceBook "snake oil" by the gallon.
Some folks have to learn the hard way.

It’s not that difficult.
Personally I don't care if you went to ND or not. I know more subways who embodied what the University is about than dudes who went there like Goat.
But to claim both is well curious. Whatever...you live your truth. Everyone else does...

I can't help noticing that all this "un-American" and "unpatriotic" and "traitors" talk from the top on down is occurring right as the communist nation 90 miles off our shores has come to the forefront and has presented problems Joe's administration. Just a coincidence, probably.
McCarthy was censured back in the day for labeling whole groups of Americans as "un-American" and "traitors."
Because so many Americans are obsessing with Cuba, I guess?
You have your finger on the pulse of DC machinations, that’s for sure. Klannews.com serves you well.
meet a vaccination rate that he promised. It was a dumb promise to make, but that is par for the course with this administration. With each day past July 4 that has come around, this administration has grown more shrill and emotive in its anger toward those who prevented that promise from being realized. Then a Cuba situation arose and Cuba has always been and will always be a loser for Dems. It never fails to reopen decades-old accusations that the Dems are soft on or even sympathetic to communist regimes, fair or not, so labeling those on the Right who stir up such rhetoric as un-American and traitors themselves for not getting vaccinated would seem like a win-win for them. They get to vent and stir up the Dem true believers, and they can head off the incoming accusations about being soft on communism.

Man, would that decimate the humanities and social sciences.

social sciences. It's fun sometimes to read a monograph or screed from these arenas to just read argument by assertion after argument by assertion. Then it grows tiresome.

Yes, that's what it is. I've even mastered, or at least come close to mastering, academese gibberish.
I've always said that it would be a bloodbath if we went one building over and asked the folks in the actual sciences to review the "research" of the humanities and social sciences. Even some philosophy profs would have field days.
Those manuscripts would be filled with red ink, reading like this: "How do you know this to be true?" "Research in the area of __________ says otherwise." "This conclusion does not follow from your premise."

Better than Baron's? No. Better than Ned's? No. Better than Cheeks? No. Better than Knute's, when he isn't making us laugh and is making a serious point. Certainly not. Better than conor's? Obviously. His idea of an "argument" is to make an assertion and then simply paste a link to NYT or WaPo. There used to be more lefties here who actually provided reasoned arguments. It's too bad.
This isn't hard to understand. Not all conjecture is made nor delivered equally.
(no message)
Again, there used to be more lefties here and there were certainly lefties who articulated the reasoning for their assertions and beliefs. Your idea of asserting something is to call someone or some group a name and presume the absolute worst about their intentions. You're not convincing anyone.

It has officially replaced dissent as the greatest thing you can do for your country. Even more than that guy who jumped onto a grenade in Iraq to save his platoon.
Nice to see your “informed speculation” has now joined us to add his contributions.
I’m sure that damages your pretentious ego, but it’s the case.
so! Someone asserting something with no indication of their rationale is just as valuable as an assertion that contains reasoning. Yep.
It's important to note that you don't believe that. You don't believe, for instance, that someone ignorant of the law can speak here about it with the same authority as you, thus their assertion are not equal to yours in this regard.
One thing that is true is that you're not any better, in terms of ultimate value, than anyone else, including those who don't vaccinate. Our worth isn't ultimately determined by some decision we made and I think you understand the Christian reason for this.

here.
Psst......it’s not argument by assertion, it’s an opinion on the relative merits of the speculation and conjecture here. Overall, none of it stands out to me as particularly noteworthy, including my own and yours. Sometimes it is particularly off in my opinion as was yours today. Sorry sweetie, you ain’t any great shakes.
This is how you reason and assess assertions. The first task after comprehending the argument is to note contradictions.
stand out to me as any better on their accuracy. Overall, I rate their value as the same. That is not a contradiction.

Some can be particularly bad at times like you today, but overall you are about the same as everyone else in conjecture abilities. Again, sorry sweetie, You are nothing special.
You embrace conjecture when it’s your bloviation.
Not so much when you don’t agree with the conjecture.
When people post conjecture with no reasoning or "because I said so," then, yes, I'm unimpressed.
You are part of the nutties.
Your descent into greater and greater anger is evident to all. Your credibility and your esteem here has worked in inverse proportion to your rise in anger. The two of you are now the most-mocked of anyone here, and that includes some people who definitely are not Trumpers. A little self-awareness might give you some pause. Unfortunately, how it works with guys like you is that you naturally assume that everyone else has the problem and if you are acting out of character, it's only because others forced or provoked you into this behavior.

Cuba policy is a much bigger threat to the administration than the continuance of this pandemic.
Your star continues to brightly shine.
And the equation with McCarthy, just sooooooo spot on? No significant differences.
Around 60% of Americans are either somewhat concerned or unconcerned about the Delta variant.
I'm certainly not saying that the Biden Administration is less concerned about COVID in comparison to Cuba over the long haul, but this week or last, the administration clearly received poll numbers that told them that their response to the Cuba situation was unpopular.
Link: https://www.ipsos.com/en-us/news-polls/axios-ipsos-coronavirus-index
policy. The idea that their COVID statements are in any way connected to Cuba is preposterous bullshit.
P.S. Pssst, by the way they are devout dems. More reason why your bloviation here is BS.
Because then we have a dope in the WH calling wide swaths of Americans un-American and disloyal, who is alarmist about COVID and its variants, is struggling with how to respond to the Cuba unrest (and treating authentic refugees worse than illegal immigrants here as "economic refugees"), and has hinted at the need for renewed lockdowns in the future.
If you want something to really divide us even more than we're already divided, go back to anti-scientific mandates and lockdowns. I can't even fathom both the economic wreckage from that sort of madness, along with all the other wreckage, social wreckage among it. Nevermind the tribalist political rancor that will ramp up exponentially.
A couple weeks ago, I was talking to a family member who despises Trump and voted for Biden, and who talks like you and Chris much of the time. He asked me for about the tenth time over the past year and a half how people around me are viewing COVID? I said that even a year ago at this time, at the height of COVID panic, I don't think it would've polled in the top 10 of the majority of people in my area in terms of concerns. As I've also told him each of those 10 times, we live in different worlds. When I hear people talking about finally being able to leave their houses and go to restaurants and so forth, I still can't believe what I'm hearing, that people who overwhelmingly have infinitesimal chances of succumbing to COVID have literally given away a year or year and a half of their lives, and also of their kids' lives. It's madness. And this administration and the Great Fauci are hinting that these measures might be forced on us again if we don't drag more people to get their shots?
BTW, when I also brought up inflation and the general incompetence of key officials in this administration, there was a pause, and an admission from him that thus far, this has the makings of potentially "one of the worst administrations of all time." Beyond Biden, I can't imagine any individuals in whom I believe in less than Harris, Blinken, Becerra, Granholm, Mayorkas. Just awful, awful, complete in over their heads individuals, who are doing and will do great damage in their posts.
Tillerson, John neo con Bolton, Kirsten Neilson, Stevo Bannon, Stephen Miller, Betsy Devos, and Mideast envoy supreme, Jared Kushner among others? And you have the balls to criticize Biden’s picks and his first 6 months after the 4 year train wreck that you supported?
What people social distancing before the vaxx has to do with this topic, I dunno, but I can tell you that I was out in the world pretty much everyday during that time including a one week jury trial. I did appreciate those who masked and despised the dumbshits, many of whom “worked at home” who would criticize it, and who made an issue out of it. I don’t wear one now anywhere. If I lived in the dumbass belt where the vaxx rates are around 30%, I might. I live my life pretty normally and did the best I could to do so before the vaxx.
Again what prior lockdowns have to do with this topic, I dunno. I will comment that the the first and biggest was ordered by your dear leader and by many accounts saved a lot of lives. If Biden had”hinted” at future lockdowns, so what. Get back to me when they are imminent. Your hints are just more bloviation to me. I agree that I wouldn’t call the dumbass, stupid plague rats, disloyal or unAmerican. Those are usually far right nutty terms and not helpful. I just call them what they are; selfish, stupid, dumbass plague rats.
Since you want to talk about "selfishness," let's see how "selfish" you are. Do you regularly exceed the speed limit? Do you eat foods that may/will contribute to more visits to the doctor? Do your consumption patterns meet the standard of selflessness and modesty or do you take advantage of your relative wealth to indulge in stuff that, truth be told, you really don't need? For instance, do you purchase things made by essentially slaves in third-world or authoritarian countries? When is the last time you actually sacrificed something other than some change for the least among us? What were the circumstances?
In any kind of reasonable standard of selflessness, you and me and most here probably won't fare too well. There are a whole lot of externalities flowing onto others from the selfish behaviors enumerated above, and there are many more from where those came.
But one doesn’t have to be a great soul to call out those who are putting their neighbors at risk of a contagious disease and burdening the medical system with the results of their stupidity, selfish. They are.
your enemies. That's how it works all the time, regardless of ideology or belief system. And I'm guessing your answer to my questions, which you rarely answer, is "no." Speaks volumes. We would expect that those who are most guilty of something accuse others of that very thing.
They make me sad, cause they will lead to deaths, some of which will be them. They are also helping to prolong this thing. Those that care more about the mocking than what the refusalists are doing REALLY have the problem.
"They're hoping to prolong this thing?" Yeah, that's a really intelligent assertion. So, the people most outraged by lockdowns and mandates actually want to virus to persist so that there are renewed calls for lockdowns and mandates. Brilliant.
(no message)
I didn't write anything about a misspelling. This is what happens with you every time when you do these marathon thread posting sessions.
That’s what you just attacked as anger. What was meant and corrected was “they are helping to prolong”.
Capice.
Then we turn to what we do about it. Does the mocking and insulting that you support and use get more people to vaccinate who have chosen not to vaccinate? I seriously doubt it. Calling them "un-American" and "unpatriotic" like President Dum-Dum certainly won't help.
I said I wouldn’t call it unAmerican or disloyal if those are the words he used.
Without bringing Trump into this, you really don't see the utter incompetence of this administration, with examples like this? Who's signing off on this or is Chris correct, and this is entirely coming from Joe?
If indeed he called not getting vaxxed un American or disloyal, I don’t agree with that wording, but doubt it makes any difference as there are so few persuadables left. The only thing that will work is when these people start getting real sick which my own speculation is will happen.
I wouldn't oppose it, within reason. I'd certainly be more open to it than most of the "human infrastructure" being proposed in that one monstrosity. You'd be surprised what people will do for $50.

contracting COVID if you don’t. Why take that risk if you don’t have to? This current variant is more transmissible and seems to be taking down many more younger people than the original. You also help stop transmission spreading if you take it.
Seems like a win-win situation.
That’s the underlying truth of all of this. COVID is seen as a means to an end…..much like Global Warming. They want control over people’s lives.
To be clear to the slow people here (ie liberals), I’m not dismissing COVID. I am dismissing the sincerity of the BideHandler admin, Fauci, the MSM, and China.
As we speak, your folks are trying to go back to masks.
Anyone who wants protection has gotten it by now. You are clearly being moved by the BidenHandlers via their utterly subservient Main Stream Media toward the concept of forced vaccinations, internments, and/or removal of liberties/employment/or basic quality of life activities as the next step. But they don’t want to have you make that jump all at once so that even you sense the wrongness of it. But your clearly being moved to the next step….
…….I say this because you Q are an excellent weathervane for what the Left is pushing on their compliant minions.
rising in all 50 states...rapidly in those that have low vaccination rates, and even Republican governors are joining the Biden administration in begging their constituents to get vaccinated, while decrying the anti-vax messages on social media for "killing people" (see link).
This is not a political game being played by the Dems, Libs, Biden, Fauci or the Republican governor of Utah...that environment exists only in your mind.
In addition, for whatever reason, after more than a year, you still cannot grasp the fact that 'masks' really do work...even more so when I have to continue reminding you that the MIT Report on Indoor COVID transmission (which you trumpeted) makes the case that masks reduce the transmission rate "by an order of magnitude"...and we are now experiencing localized surges again...that's why mask usage is again being considered.
When you assert that the Dems and Biden are trying to "force" vaccinations...inter people...and remove 'liberties'...you only add weight to the conclusion that you are on the verge of becoming "unhinged"...this is no frustrated throw of an invective at you...it has to be said...you're making no sense...
Link: https://news.yahoo.com/utahs-republican-governor-said-anti-064948679.html
The problem with using "cases" as a metric is that it ignores the number of tests being done, as well as the fact that some (more than some?) health authorities are using lower cycles when testing those who've been vaccinated.
Also... the "vaccines" produce spike proteins that circulate in the bloodstream, and the vaccines leak out of the deltoid injection site and circulate also. It's inevitable that some will wind up in the cells that line the nasopharanageal cavity, and if a swab is taken of these then you'll get a false-positive.
The "science" is all over the place. What a clusterfvck this has been. It's certainly is (or should be) a wake up call for the citizenry.
you're having trouble understanding them...just like the last time we discussed mRNA technology and you thought the vaccines changed DNA...and learned that they don't, since it works on in the cytoplasm...not the nucleus.

But hey, continue on with dumbshit speak.
