Total U.S. energy exports in 2023 were the highest on record
On an energy content basis, even though U.S. total energy imports increased by about 1% in 2023, U.S. total energy exports were the highest on record, at about 29.50 quadrillion British thermal units (quads), and increased by about 8% from 2022. Total energy exports exceeded total energy imports by about 7.80 quads, the largest annual margin on record.

Climate Change is our greatest threat!

Perhaps we should implement export controls. Several reasons:
1.) Keep prices down in US
2.) Rebuild strategic reserves
3.) Limit GHG emissions in other countries
Not sure the money hungry companies care about any of that. Thoughts?

Of course energy producers would be against anything that would limit profits. NVIDIA & Intel would
sell AI chips to Iran and North Korea if not prohibited by export controls.
I’m saying as a matter of public policy, it may be desirable to limit exporting US energy.
