Ironically, Obama also disliked Churchill, albeit for being a colonialist
If it were true, Dems would be calling Trump Churchill.
Chamberlain correctly predicted if British get a major power war with Nazi Germany, British Empire would fall regardless of win or lose. History shows he was right on that. So, in order to preserve British Empire, Chamberlain tried his best to entice Germany and the Soviet union into a war which would weaken both of them and leave US as the only competitor in the world to British Empire. It was labeled as Chamberlain appeasement. But it was very cunning and calculated, typical British politicians' idea, representing mainstream British political school then. Churchill was a maverick. But Churchill is terrible war strategist. He didn't think tank and submarine would play significant role in the war. This is proven so wrong.
But Stalin outsmarted Chamberlain in diplomacy with Germany by signing a series peace agreements. Yes
Satlin's diplomacy victory is just temporary. But it earned him 2 more valuable years to face Nazi Germany.
Churchill wanted to do none of this happens as Germany was woefully unprepared. Giving them extra time to build their military like Baldwin and Chamberlain did was a huge mistake.
And he bombed German cities. Which of course was horrible…but the Germans did it first.
He gave Hitler a complete free pass. Just like morons today say it’s Biden’s fault for prolonging the war in Ukraine - and give Putin a free pass.
I’m not a big fan of Churchill, but that guy was farcical. And Tucker thinks he is “the most important historian alive today.” It’s amazing, and depressing.
Although I do think Trump is the better choice and you say it's not about policy, well, that's what directly affects our lives. Having said that, my far right wing friends on Facebook truly think Trump walks on water.
