Again and Again...the Gun "Buy Back" programs, as described in my link...are ALL Voluntary...
...even Anonymous...not one of them involved "Seizing" any guns that were held onto in a citizen's home...BUT...if they took them outside their home and were caught doing so, they would be confiscated....the law was clear...Turn In Your Gun (e.g. Assault Rifle) and get compensated for its value, or face no compensation if you're caught with it outside your home.
As for the U.S. specifically, we've banned Assault Rifles before...nothing has changed in our society to justify the repeal of that law...to the contrary, it's even more necessary now...TURN IN THOSE WEAPONS...they serve no useful purpose for hunting, or personal protection in the home.
If you want to 'play' with such weapons, join the military...time to GROW UP and act Responsibly.

just trying to pick the right means of doing so...like the Australians (and other countries) have done...i.e. Voluntary Buy-Backs...no one is going to raid your home and seize your guns...you can keep them there forever...just don't take them outside of that home. Are we clear?
