The company, which gained notoriety in 2018 for requiring local anchors across the country to read the same segment, has since created a national news show that produces stories distributed to its stations – often at the expense of local news coverage, the experts say.
As local journalism continues to decline, that formula could have an especially big impact on the upcoming presidential election when swing voters may then base their decision on fears over exaggerated problems.
“When you stress a story the way Sinclair does, say on immigration, and you don’t look at the numbers and you don’t reflect on what has been going on, that is different than a news story. That is a political talking point,” said Anne Nelson, journalist and author of Shadow Network: Media, Money, and the Secret Hub of the Radical Right.

Sinclair has dominated Midwest and Southern tv areas for decades. They’re largely in control of

In mean time, I will just note that even if he he did something illegal, the Dems are doing greater, and longer term damage to the Republic, which he did not do. They are doing damage that will likely not be able to be undone by Trump, but he's likely the only one to try. Much of the GOP shows no will to undue the damage the Dems are doing. We'll see.

You know, you’re right. We should all be skeptical. We should behave with equal amounts of
skepticism no matter who it is that has that much control over information across such a large portion of this country. You could welcome news outlets like NPR or PBS into your home to help diversify your information diet. You know, news that carries a different voice to your ear. Possibly helping you see a clearer picture than just hoisting up and repeating FOXTV propaganda here on the Open.
