Great man although I hated his finger wagging when he played.

The road to Heaven is lined w/ sinners & believers. MLB / owners don't care what we think anyway.

Rose has a complicated legacy. Not a “good” guy, and he did some awful things.

As a player though, wish his competitive spirit could be bottled and passed along to Marcus and company at ND. No one was tougher or played harder. He willed the Phils to win that 1980 Championship and I will always have a soft spot for him as I was there when they clinched. Nonetheless, what he did was inexcusable and will forever tarnish his memory.

If you are speaking about him knocking over the catcher blocking the plate in the AS game, that

wasn’t dirty. Fosse had chosen to block the plate without the ball in an exhibition game. Pete had every right to run him over under the rules of the time. Today, the run would be counted for catcher’s interference even if the guy held the ball.

a player. I watched a lot of baseball back then. I agree he played hard but then it always appeared to me he was interested in the possibility of Injuring other players.

As someone who likes good sportsmanship in sports he was not one I could idolize. In fact, I just wouldn’t watch the Reds if they were on tv because of him.

Oh he competed fiercely, no doubt. That AS play was a bad rap though. That catcher should never have

blocked the plate like he did in an exhibition game. When he did, he was fair game.
