Agree. Walz also "mispoke" again when he said "sometimes". He's "always" a knucklehead.

Sometimes you must pick between 2 knuckleheads, while partisans pretend their knucklehead isn't one.

That's what I refer to as "the illusion of democracy".

My comment applies to a first-past-the-post voting system, where that is reality, not an illusion.

Under other democracy voting systems, it would be an illusion.

I'm not saying people can't vote third party. They can. But they should not delude themselves into thinking they can win. They will only succeed in weakening the candidate of the two major parties which is closest to them, and help the candidate they dislike the most win. Ignoring that reality is "the delusion of democracy," if I can coin a phrase. If you want to vote 3rd party, do so. But don't delude yourself. You are doing it to feel good about your vote, not to cause the changes you want.

People should not delude themselves into thinking their choice..

either "preserve democracy" or "will result in meaningful change". The only way to change things is to vote neither and hope enough other people do the same. At this point in time, it's the only patriotic choice.

The trend from Obama/McCain to Obama/Romney to now is a nosedive.
