20k Hamas fighters certainly is no match to Israel military. They know it and everybody knows it. But they are like 19 terrorists' attack to US on 9/11 that lead US to change for worse. Domestically Ameticans lost significant freedom as they enjoyed in 1990s and before. Foreign policy is a disaster. China rises rapidly, Russia recovered from 1990s, north korea developed nuke...US? 2 disaster wars. I see Israel is repeating US .post-911 mistake.

Yes, it was catastrophic for Hamas....but then again....
If their goal was to end the Saudi-Israeli normalization negotiations and throw the region into chaos - which was probably part of what they were thinking - then they have succeeded.
