In my view they should have persuaded Biden not to run over a year ago and then thrown the race wide open. I do believe that would have produced a much stronger candidate than Harris. She has NEVER faced a serious campaign in her life because California is a one party state. She's fumbling badly and is in a far worse position than was Hillary in 2016. Even some of the Senate races in swing states are now in jeopardy.

a divided party with no time to fix the divide. There are plenty of better candidates that I would have liked to see nominated. But she was the natural successor and anyone else would have ensured division that couldn’t be cured.
funding...no small matter, since no other candidate could hope to amass that amount in so short a time...add to that, she also inherits the Biden campaign organization throughout the country. She was always the 1st choice. (see linked Harvard Law article).
Trump saw the threat immediately and tried to throw a wrench into the process...and that effort continues today...even on this board from MAGA acolytes trying to sow seeds of doubt in her selection.

should be happy. She also dismantled their hero in the debate, and they want no part of round 2.
rating is ~10 pts net Unfavorable...it's a tight race nonetheless...and the outcome will be a measure of how rational the USA is.
Against Orange though, I will gladly vote for her. You can’t believe in America and vote for Orange.
