Let's get a few last licks in against the the Catholic Church before the election. Let's make those Catholic voters on the fence think a little more. After all, the Church opposes abortion. How dare they? How could you vote Republican?
Let's have fun with this movie and use all of the old tropes: the church is sexist, patriarchal, it is filled with intrigue, Machiavellian, sinister, and don't forget to fold in a sexual scandal or two. In reality, it's hypocritical and evil.
But let's have some more fun messing with this gender-rigid institution and toss in a genetically female pope. Look at that, we outfoxed the foxes. How cool is that?
Following from the thoughts above, the included article explains why the Church can only ordain men as priests.
This blows the mind of the Left. The progressive mindset sees us as androgynous--there should be no gender barriers or distinctions. Not so. Thank God we are separate and complement each other.

If you don't think backroom politics and ideology come into the selection of a pope, then you are even stupider than I thought you were.
Which wouldn't be easy.
He said that Catholics should be "pissed off" about this hit job on the Catholic Church.
And he's right!
and maybe even Kamala Harris...then the RCC has no reason for banning women as priests, bishops, cardinals or even popes. As a matter of fact, look at any parish in the U.S....every one would crumble were it not for all the women volunteers running them...they have earned the right to take on such roles. Given the numerous failings of our Male-Only clique...there's a good chance we could do better with some female leadership.
Hopefully, Pope Francis will continue his fight against "Backward Thinking"...
Jesus is the head and the church is His body. He is the bridegroom and the church is His spouse. Complementarity is called for in this relationship. The Catholic Church was founded this way and continues as such.
The Left wants to dispose of such complementarity. That is the way of the world. It spawns a SC justice who doesn't know what a woman is.
The way of Jesus and His church is different. Thank God.
Support for the ordination of women to the priesthood ranged from a high of 83% in Brazil to a low of 47% in Mexico. Sixty-four percent of U.S. Catholics surveyed were also in favor, slightly higher than the 62% when Pew surveyed American Catholics on the issue 10 years ago.
Support for female ordination varied widely by age, however. For example, only 34% of Mexican Catholics above age 40 favor female ordination, compared with 64% in the 18-39 age bracket.
In the U.S., by contrast, older Catholics are more supportive of female ordination than younger Catholics, with 66% of those above age 40 in favor, compared with 57% in the 18-39 age bracket.

women in leadership among the laity will come to fruition..."Patience Grasshopper" ;-)

i.e. Contraception...what percentage do you think adhere to that teaching?...
btw, membership in the RCC is declining...largely because of insensitive teachings regarding Contraception, Gay Rights, Women's Rights/Ordinations...and the Catholic Hierarchy knows this. Consequently, IMO this recent effort at "Synodality" by Pope Francis will serve to open up the closed minds of enough clerics to more acceptance of the needs and desires of the laity...not unlike what Vatican II accomplished.

activism from Vatican II, it's disappointing to see the current fall back to 'Clericalism' and lack of involvement/emphasis in Social Justice Issues..along with clear politicization of the American RCC...but that's okay...we'll deal with it...thankfully, Francis has enough cardinals now, with the proper motivation to ensure the right changes take place.
much readers of the New Testament...

Pro-life candidates in state elections would be encouraged to run and once they gained momentum, state laws could reflect the change.

driven by the reaction to Roe v Wade being overturned...that sentiment isn't going away, especially when it deeply affects the lives of all women
While we're on this subject....what's your response to the millions of innocent women who during their fertile years have endured totally unwanted pregnancies that were forced or coerced...should they have no say in the impact that has on the physical, mental and emotional impact they have on the rest of their lives...or possibly the end of their lives?...should politicians be the judges...not them?

You support an unprincipled, serial sexual assaulter of women. Justify that to your Lord.

two evils? Or is being a sexual assaulter okay cause it’s not as bad as murder if he has “good” policies? Sick.

you agree with...sounds a bit psychotic and sociopathic to me...and not really in line with what I've been taught throughout my Catholic education.
