That was after the Democrats yielded to all requests made by the GOP in drafting the bill. Then like the Affordable Care Act, the GOP walked away from the very table that they set.
Why? Because the GOP does not want a bipartisan adult investigation into January 6th. Really bad facts for the GOP/Trump/Trumpists.
So .... the GOP play is to discredit any Congressional investigation as a partisan sham. That is why McCarthy proposed Jim Jordan -- someone who could tip over the monopoly board every day and obstruct any meaningful investigation. Nancy was ready for it.
