But he does have 3 legit accomplishments: 1) Got OBL; 2) Got us out of Iraq; and 3) removed Qadaffi from power w/o losing a single American soldier.
tax cuts to every working man/women; passed the Lilly Ledbetter Act for equal pay for equal work; stopped the hemorrhaging of jobs that he inherited; created 4.4M jobs and 26 straight months of positive job creation by the private sector; the DOW Jones increased 4,000 points and so did most IRAs and 401Ks; leased large tracts in the Gulf of Mexico for oil exploration; stopped Mubarak from slaughtering the Egyptian rebels and organized NATO to help the rebels without a loss of life; negotiated a free trade pact with So. Korea and Columbia; imposed new sanctions on Iran and kept Israel from starting a nuclear war with Iran; controlled spending and his annual budgets were only 1.5% greater than George Bush's last budget; started pulling out of Afghanistan and set a deadline for all American troops to leave; passed the Dodd-Frank Act to curb excesses and unethical practices by Wall Street; passed the Affordable Health Care Act; began bringing back U. S. manufacturing jobs from China.

Most were not "earth shaking" and effected every American but they are true and many people not posting here have been effected in a positive way by Obama's actions. Your hatred of Obama is overcoming your common sense and you refuse to accept facts. You're pathetic.
Because some of those things are actually true? Now, they may not mean much but they are, in fact, true.

in direct contravention of the priority scheme of the Bankruptcy Code. I don't have a problem with using the bankruptcy system to cancel debts (it's what I do every day), but I'm a believer that the President shouldn't dictate that his financial backers should get the benefit of that cancellation.
I.e., no bailout for the too-big-to-fails?
I take it you're not down with supporting Big Agra, Big Pharma, Big Oil and many other companies sucking on the tax dollar teet.
Lets hear your rant on those too.
He took stock that should have gone to investors in the companies' debt and handed it to his union cronies instead. It was a sweet little payback for their support. What do stupid subsidies to unneeding industries have to do with that transaction?
That appears to be a false claim. Where is it his "cronies" received stock in the companies? This sounds more like aicheeks post. - Obama's cronies!
You don't like the bailout of the auto industry, giving them direct financial help, fine, but you can't have that argument if you are fine with unneeding Co's receiving scratch from Uncle Sam.
On a side note, it didn't bother any of you claiming cronyism when W was out there making sure all his buddies had jobs (big paying important jobs) and his buddies in big industry everywhere were on the - Bush is in office, dole. And now, all of the sudden you guys claim cronyism by the Democrat in office and yet I don't see any facts or evidence of this being posted. Odd, don't you think?

1. Our economy is doing better in this recession than many of our allies.
2. His foreign policy is good in that it did not invade any sovereign countries, and he is taking a measured approach to withdrawing from Iraq and Afghanistan.
3. He has not raised income tax rates or done other things to unnecessarily derail the anemic recovery. I do not thing letting the Bush cuts expire on the rich will derail the recovery. Consumer spending comes from the middle, not from the top. Besides, the rich will be driven to earn more to make up the lost income. Galt's Gulch is not an option for most, and certainly not worth it for 2% or whatever it is.
4. He got us off the ground on health care reform. It's not perfect, but it's better than what we had, and now we have something to work with.
5. He had the guts to push through the stimulus, and prevented us from going into a depression.
6. He's had some military successes noted by Lance in his thread. Although I do not think much of these.
7. He hasn't had any unseemly incidents with overweight interns - i.e. he acts presidential.
1) We are the smartest retard because our economy is less bad than the free spenders of the Euro Zone who are about to go bankrupt;
2) Neither did Jimmy Carter who was also an abject failure as president;
3) He has only not done so because he lacks the political support in Congress to accomplish it. The economy would be much worse if the Bush cuts had expired as he wished and even Clinton says they again need to be extended. He has done nothing to spur private investment and he is an over regulator that stymies growth;
4) Obama care will be a cost disaster if not struck down or repealed. It is the most unpopular law in a long time. It also diverted attention from fixing the economy and has led to investment and hiring uncertainty by business as no one knows what will become of it;
5) Porkulous was a failure by its own standard as it was supposed to keep unemployment under 8%. The depression avoidance is the newer standard after the first one utterly failed, but there is no credible evidence to support this position. In point of fact, the stimulus was written by special interests in the D party to benefit special interests there and was not targeted to stimulating growth. Even the lefty economists have criticised it as not being effective. The "green jobs" initiative has also been a spectacular failure;
6) He deserves some credit here, but less than what he is giving himself. It is a point in his favor;
7) Neither did GWB....nuff said;
He can't win on his own record. He only wins by being a taller midget than Romney.
George W. Bush were the worst presidents ever. Both were Republicans.
Those allegedly "saved" were largely public sector, the D constituentcy. It was written by liberal interest group lobbyists and had to be passed before it could be read by Congress to keep unemployment under 8%. It failed miserably in that regard. Even the liberal economists say it wasn't effective. But keep trying gramps while you fellate your Barry blow up doll.
P.S. it's Herbert, not "Hurbert".
and the other started the worst recession since the 1930s. Both were Republicans. Enough said.
1. Yes. I can only compare to other countries. I have no other benchmark. You can call them all retards, or all brilliant.
2. Come on. Your logic is better than this. Are you saying that unless you invade a country, you are an abject failure as president? Of course not.
3. But my point stands. He had a Democratic congress, he didn't do it.
4. Our prior system was a huge disaster. Obamacare may or may not be a disaster, but in my opinion it is a lot better than what we had. You and I will disagree with that.
5. You and I will disagree. I think it was successful, and frankly, completely necessary. I have reviewed what could have been done, and what was done. I think this was the best approach. Could you nitpick the exact ways it was spent? Sure. But by and large, I think it was as successful as anything could have been. I have not heard a single alternative plan with an explanation as to how it would have been more successful.
6. Again, I don't really think much of this one.
7. Sure, that's a good thing about GWB as well.

Recognize this guy?
On November 4, 1979, radical Iranian students seized the United States Embassy complex in the Iranian capital of Tehran. The immediate cause of this takeover was the anger many Iranians felt over the U.S. President Jimmy Carter allowing the deposed former ruler of Iran, Shah Reza Pahlavi, to enter the U.S. for medical treatment. In Iran, this was believed to be an opening move leading up an American-backed return to power by the Shah. The crisis which followed this seizure created a near state of war, ruined Jimmy Carter's presidency, and began an environment of hostility between America and Iran which continues to this day.
Link: Oh yeah, then there's this debacle...
started a war in Iraq and forgot about Osama bin-Laden in Afghanistan. He was afraid to go into Pakistan to get al-Queda and the Taliban. Obama wasn't and bin-Lauden is dead thanks to Obama. You can have an opinion but not your own set of facts.

1. Both unemployment and inflation rose dramatically. He was responsible for the term, "stagflation" (which you probably think is elk flatulence).
2. He got suckered by Brezhnev big time -- many call him one of the most naive POTUSs ever, though Barry is trying to trump that.
3. In September 1977, he signed over U.S. control of the Panama Canal to the Panamanian government, beginning in 1999 -- now thought to be one of the more bone headed decisions in recent memory.
4. Nicaraguan Daniel Ortega, leader of the Sandinista rebels who had just overthrown the dictatorship of Anastasio Somosa, asked Carter for some money, and he agreed on $118 million. He then took it and turned into a leftist dictator. Nice going Jimmy.
5. Utterly weakened the national defense -- and was generally know to be a pussy. This is why the Iranian hostage crisis lasted for over a year -- an international embarrassment of the first order. But Ted Koppel launched a nice career on Jimmy. Then he tried to rescue them with his limp-wristed and poorly maintained military, and it failed. Two helicopters failed and a third crashed into a plane on takeoff. The world laughed. And Jimmy bought another Cardigan sweater to wear in the Oval office.
I could go on, but I think that $150 is all you can afford. I take PayPal.
Decidedly mediocre (third quartile), but a far stretch from the bottom quartile, which I would think is the "abject failure" territory.
Oh, and Jimmah appears to have scored slightly better than GWB, Ford and Nixon.
Good for GHWB, by the way, one of my faves in my lifetime.

you will ruin KS's Wednesday. Not to mention the fact that Ronnie was the most pussywhipped gentleman to ever hold the presidency. Please don't mention those things to KS.
He also lowered taxes never raising them. He brought Friedman out from the wildernesses of Britain and Chili to American soil and made him and Laffer forever popular.
Don't forget that he also prevented a Commie takeover on the pivotal island of Grenada.(Hushed tones) "We got there just in time!"
He also brought senility and dementia into the public spotlight after both had been neglected forever.
And he gave us Nancy Reagan, Ron Reagan and, best of all, Michael Reagan.*
*Indicates adopted, less favored Reagan son.
so much so they nominated the White Obama to run against the Black Obama.

Capital flows to corporations and they use it to invest raising employment, wages, GDP, tax revenues....etc.
The rules of the game were set by you guys, he asked for specific facts one might point to who wants to vote for Obama. There it is, now off you go, argue against your all knowing god: the market. I don't give a shit, if he doesn't then why'd he ask for it?
I understand that the market has slowly recovered to levels equivalent to 5 years ago, but on Jan 20th 2009 when Obama took office the Dow stood at about 8100, not the 6500 nadir of March 9th 2009. There was still a rise, and one can debate whether a true recovery was hindered or not by Obama's policies, but when you put out a graph where the starting point inappropriately makes the numbers look better than they are, it hurts your credibility. Yes, the image is factual, but no the image timeline does not fully and honestly reflect the DOW under Obama.
I thought we'd be ok saying Obama took 6 weeks to get things going. He did pretty much call the bottom right on in March.
The point is stupid. As is the question. As is all the political talk on here.
