I really hope we don’t return to widespread mask mandates. There is an extremely low risk of getting
very sick or dying if you are vaxxed. If you aren’t without medical reason then live or die with it. It’s your freedom to possibly suffer and die. The only pause I have is with those who medically can’t get vaxxed or who are immunocompromised. That seems like a pretty small group though.

The most severe lockdown was directed by the prior occupant, I think with good reason.
Masking helped save lives before the vax for those who couldn’t work at home.
But it’s past time to end both.
You do know there is middle ground between zero lockdowns and masking and perpetuating them when not necessary? My philosophy has always been that mandates are an infringement on liberty and should be used only as long as absolutely needed from a public health standpoint, and not a second longer. I err on the side of lifting, not perpetuating.
In my world, it's very, very cultural. Mexicans are not getting vaccinated and over the past 4 weeks
They are dropping out of the work force like crazy....some are bad stories and friends of mine not just work associates. 4 weeks ago I had about 50 guys onsite 95% Mexican or of Mexican decent, today I had 35.
Whites that I know for the most part are getting vaccinated.
My friends that are black there is no in between, getting it or not getting it.

Americans who are unvaccinated...some may indeed be jerks, but a sizable number are kids under 12 years old...like my three G-kids...who are not yet able to get the vaccines. Due to protocols/regulations, approvals won't be coming until after November from what I'm hearing (ID Doc)...everyone wishes it were sooner, but the rules are there for a reason...so, until then, I'm hoping that we can all pull together for a little longer and do what we've been doing...i.e. wear a mask when in close proximity to others indoors...the attached article, btw, demonstrates that children are indeed vulnerable...and being American as opposed to Indonesian means nothing to the COVID virus.
Frankly, as much as I scratch my head over adults who should know better, they are real people who are integral members of our society, doing jobs that likely serve us all well...we need to protect them too...and minimizing COVID threats is how we do it.
Again, and I can't thank Baron enough (seriously), his MIT report was data driven and it proves that masking is remarkably effective in reducing COVID transmission...absolutely no doubt about it, so please don't assume otherwise.

There have been less than 100 deaths in age range 1-14.
You'd be far better off getting those kids to go outside and not taking them to McDs than to get them the vaccine.

All over the world, countries are implementing tighter restrictions, stronger "vaccine passport" requirements, etc.

I hear you, but I also consider that "exception" (i.e. the kids) to be significant and cause for
taking appropriate steps, such as continuing to do what we've learned thus far...wear masks if the CDC says so.
The frustration is palpable, but 'survivable'...we can vent our anger at those who are making life tougher for everyone (including themselves), but we still can't turn our backs on the realities of COVID...we must do what has to be done.

90% of those most vulnerable have been jabbed, so if the others get sick likely they just suffer a bit.

I didn’t imply - I don’t want to go back being forced to wear masks. However
since a large portion of Neddie’s group can’t think for themselves and get vaccinated we all might be forced to go back to mask wearing. With that should include Vax passports and if you’re sick with C19 and you haven’t been vaccinated, need a Dr.‘s care or need to be hospitalized all those costs go directly to that unvaccinated person and not to the government. Also, if you are not vaccinated you will not be allowed in public spaces - cinema’s, grocery stores, work places where there are others working, and on and on - a lockdown for those who continue to refuse to be vaccinated.
But until we are above 90% vaccinated in this country I can understand why we should all mask up again.
